What causes uterine cancer?

The correct name of uterine cancer is uterine body cancer or endometrial cancer. It is mainly a disease that occurs in the uterus and is different from cervical cancer. Gynecological experts said that there are currently many causes of uterine cancer. According to epidemiological surveys and clinical case studies, the following types of people are at high risk:

1. Obese people: Obesity is one of the main factors causing uterine cancer. Excess body fat in obese people not only increases estrogen storage, but also increases estrone synthesis, and increased estrone synthesis is considered a carcinogen for endometrial cancer.

2. Diabetic patients: Diabetes can increase the risk of uterine cancer. For patients with diabetes or those with abnormal glucose tolerance, the risk of developing uterine cancer is 2.8 times higher than that of normal people, and 3 to 17 of the patients with endometrial cancer are also diabetic.

3. Patients with high blood pressure: A survey of patients with endometrial cancer found that about 1/3 have high blood pressure, and patients with high blood pressure are often at a higher risk of developing endometrial cancer. 1.5 times higher than the normal population.

4. People with coexisting obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure: Because obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure can coexist in patients with uterine cancer, this is often called the "triad of uterine cancer." For middle-aged and elderly women suffering from these three diseases, their chances of suffering from endometrial cancer will be greatly increased, and they should be vigilant.

5. Patients with irregular menstruation: Patients with uterine cancer are three times more likely to have irregular menstruation and heavy menstruation than normal women. Irregular menstruation is caused by the ovaries not being able to ovulate normally and therefore not producing progesterone normally. The lack of progesterone influence in the uterus results in proliferative changes that may ultimately lead to cancer.

6 People with early menarche and late menopause: The incidence of uterine cancer is 60% higher for those who have menarche before 12 years old than for those who have menarche after 12 years old. The age of menopause in patients with uterine cancer can be more than 6 years later than that in normal women. People who undergo menopause at the age of 52 and later have a 2.4 times greater risk of intrauterine cancer than those who undergo menopause before the age of 49. Therefore, early menarche and delayed menopause will extend the age of women's menstruation, thereby increasing the chance of endometrial cancer.

7. Infertile people: Affected by factors such as status and pressure, infertility or late childbearing is increasingly becoming a fashionable move for modern women. However, endometrial cancer occurs more often in nulliparous or infertile patients. 66.4% of endometrial cancer patients under the age of 40 are nulliparous women. The incidence of uterine cancer is three times higher in nulliparous women than in multiparous women. Therefore, normal pregnancy and childbirth not only play an important role in maintaining women's mental health, but also have important significance for women's physical health.

8. Patients with ovarian diseases: Polycystic ovary syndrome, functional ovarian tumors and other diseases will cause long-term stimulation of the uterus by estrogen, increasing the possibility of illness.

9. Patients who use estrogen for a long time: For medical or other reasons, long-term use of estrogen can also lead to uterine cancer. The risk depends on the dose of the hormone, the length of time, and whether The concomitant use of progestins, whether medications are discontinued in between, and patient characteristics are all relevant.

10 People with a family history: If family members have similar diseases, they will also increase the risk of uterine cancer. About 20% of uterine cancer patients have a family history.
