Many Vietnamese cities have the same names as those in China, such as Changsha County, Yong 'an City, Xining City and Taiyuan City. Holidays in Vietnam are exactly the same as those in China. There are also traditional festivals in China, such as Tomb-Sweeping Day, Dragon Boat Festival and Spring Festival.

Viet Nam is adjacent to China, separated only by water. Since the Han Dynasty, Viet Nam has been learning about the development of China and has been deeply influenced by China culture. It is the country that retains the most China culture in Asia. Vietnamese ordinary people and middle-class elites have basically grown up under the traditional family education in China. Even though some Vietnamese don't like the China government very much, their familiarity with China culture and natural friendliness still far exceed that of most Japanese and Koreans.

Apart from Vietnam, it is because of its geographical proximity that it is somewhat similar to countries around China, such as Japanese ukiyo-e, Korean New Year and Mid-Autumn Festival. These manifestations also have historical factors.
