What is Pukawang Village in Dulongjiang River?

Pukawang Village of Dulong River, located in the northwest of Yunnan, is a mysterious and beautiful place. There are lush mountains and jade-like Dulong River flowing. Besides Lisu and Tibetans, there are Dulong people who live in seclusion here.

It takes 4 hours to drive from Liuku to Gongshan, and 3 hours to drive from Gongshan to Bapo, the capital of Dulongjiang. The scenery along the way is beautiful. Now pay attention. Liuku is building a road leading to Gongshan. With luck, it may take a day. It will take two days if you are unlucky. You can also go to Gongshan from Deqin, which is faster without building roads. It takes about 3 hours from Deqin to Gongshan, and the road repair will be completed in June 20 19. It is suggested that tourists who go during this period can fly directly to Shangri-La, and then take a bus to Deqin to Gongshan, and from Gongshan to Dulongjiang.

This is Kongdang, the seat of Dulongjiang township government. This is a newly-built town. The space is very small. There is only a two-lane asphalt road with shops, government units and schools on both sides. Generally speaking, tourists who come here stay here for dinner, and the accommodation conditions are average and the price is expensive. A room in the peak season should be at least 200 yuan, and meals are not cheap. Some tourists will choose to live in their hometown in the village, and the price is slightly cheaper.

Visiting Dulongjiang generally requires driving and chartered cars. The tour route is generally Puka King. Pukawang Village is almost entirely Dulong, including our driver.

Most people in this village are simple. When we strangers visit, they all smile.

To tell the truth, their living conditions are high and low, but most families have poor houses. The kitchen stove in the room is the most distinctive. Not only in the living room, but also directly in the ground, there is an iron shelf on it, which is convenient for cooking. The food is mainly potatoes.

At first, the Dulong people were called "tattooed women", so we also have the intention to meet tattooed women in this trip, but we also know that tattooed women are generally old people, ranging from the oldest in their 90 s to the youngest in their 70 s..

Luckily, we met a tattooed old lady on the road. The old lady can't speak Mandarin, and only local drivers can communicate with her. The old lady told us that she was over 80 years old and still in good health. She lives in a nearby village and her daily job is to go out and collect firewood. Moreover, this tattooed old lady is dressed with national characteristics, which can even be said to be quite fashionable.

You can talk to the old lady, but you have to pay for taking pictures of her. But the old lady doesn't charge much, and she can take pictures for 50 yuan. She can't bear to take pictures with such a heavy thing on her back, so help her put down the basket quickly. She may have faced many cameras, so it is natural to relax in front of them.

Later, we were taken to the home of a tattooed woman by the driver. Tattooed women are older. She said that she was 9 1 years old and could not speak Mandarin. It's all from relatives nearby. The old lady's asking price is 100, but friends in the same trade think the asking price is a bit high and disagree. So the tattooed woman immediately changed her face and kicked us out and let us.

It is said that there are fewer and fewer women tattooed by Dulong people, and the only tattoo inheritor, Qi Nai, has passed away. These photos were taken during our trip on 20 14. I wonder if these old people are still alive. Maybe these photos have become precious memories. Bless these old people.
