1. Wang Gaoyin’s message to soldiers: Sweat more during training and bleed less during battle

After the Battle of Liangshan and the July 12th War, the Vietnamese army switched from active offensive to guerrilla warfare in an attempt to consume the effective strength of our army.

Our army responded to this and decided to extend the front line and prepare for a protracted war.

In December 1986, the People's Liberation Army at Laoshan battlefield needed to be rotated and replenished, and Wang Gaoyin and his unit were among them.

Shortly after receiving the combat order, Wang Gaoyin followed the army to the battle assembly area in southern Xinjiang. He rested here and then went to the Laoshan battlefield again.

During the rest time, Wang Gaoyin and his soldiers did not relax at all, but instead stepped up their training.

During the rest period at the assembly area, Wang Gaoyin would urge the soldiers in the class to conduct "high-intensity" training every day.

The weight-bearing training standard for other fighters is 30 kilograms, while the weight-bearing training standard in Wang Gaoyin's class is 60 kilograms, and his own training standard is 70 kilograms.

Regardless of wind or rain, training cannot stop and standards cannot be lowered. Wang Gaoyin will also feel heartbroken when he looks at the soldiers who have been "tortured" by him.

But he often said to the soldiers: "The more you sweat during training, the less you bleed during war! The training now is all about getting home safely!"

2. Wang Gaoyin’s letter to the leader: Believe me, the most dangerous places need me.

It is precisely because of this intensity of training that Wang Gaoyin can be more determined when facing difficult tasks.

After rushing to the Laoshan battlefield, all combat units had to divide their combat areas. Wang Gaoyin's team chose the most dangerous position No. 54.

Position No. 54, known as "Shangganling in the 1980s"

It is dangerous for the following two reasons.

First, Position No. 54 was called "Shangganling in the 1980s."

This area is located in the east mountain of Balihe, Malipo County, Yunnan Province, my country. It is an independent mountain top with an altitude of about 800 meters. It has steep walls on three sides and a slope on one side. It can be said that the terrain is dangerous, easy to defend and difficult to attack. .

At the same time, because water and electricity were cut off, the Vietnamese army planted countless landmines here, causing difficulties in combat logistics and supply.

It was short of water, food and difficult to support, so it was called "Shangganling".

Second, Position No. 54 is very close to the enemy position, especially Sentry Post No. 3, which is only a hundred meters away from the Vietnamese army.

In the silent mountain forest, any abnormal sound will be noticed by the enemy and reveal the location, so the degree of danger is very high.

Even so, Wang Gaoyin was not afraid at all. Instead, he recommended himself, went to the leader again and again, and begged the leader to approve his detachment to station at the No. 3 sentry post of No. 54 position.

After Wang Gaoyin’s hard work, the leader finally decided to send Wang Gaoyin to Sentry Post No. 3 of Position No. 54.

3. Wang Gaoyin to the enemy: Wait, I will kill you all after dinner

After arriving at the position, Wang Gaoyin and other soldiers almost did not dare to make a sound, and they could not make loud noises. There is only one nearby cave: Maoer Cave.

But they could not relax their vigilance at all. Coupled with the shortage of water resources, the soldiers could only dryly eat the compressed biscuits they carried with them, which gradually pushed the psychological and physiological limits of Wang Gaoyin and other soldiers.

On April 20, 1987, Wang Gaoyin was chewing compressed biscuits as usual and said: "When I finish eating, I will destroy you all."

However, there was still no movement from the Vietnamese army. Wang Gaoyin and the rotating soldiers took a rest and rotated normally.

The Vietnamese army sent several soldiers to try to sneak into our army's position, but Wang Gaoyin was extremely sensitive in combat, and even during his break, he heard small special noises.

Upon noticing something strange, Wang Gaoyin immediately turned over and jumped up, waking up other resting soldiers. Then he came to the observation port and saw Vietnamese soldiers approaching their own position cautiously.

Faced with the sudden war situation, Wang Gaoyin was extremely calm and extremely excited: The time for the decisive battle has finally arrived!

Wang Gaoyin ordered the soldiers not to act rashly and wait until the Vietnamese army approached before launching a concentrated attack.

According to the plan, the Vietnamese army was getting closer and closer. Wang Gaoyin picked up two grenades and threw them decisively at the Vietnamese army.

Because they were unprepared, three Vietnamese soldiers were killed on the spot.

The sudden grenade proved that the Vietnamese army's sneak attack plan had been exposed. The enraged Vietnamese army no longer hid and launched a fierce attack on Wang Gaoyin's position. In an instant, countless grenades and explosive packets were fired Thrown into post number three.

Faced with the overwhelming amount of ammunition poured by the Vietnamese army, Wang Gaoyin and others not only found bunkers in time and escaped most of the bombings, but they also seized the opportunity and fired back with machine guns. Repulsed the first wave of attack by the Vietnamese army.

4. One person broke out of the flame blockade and reversed the situation of being passively beaten.

Upon seeing this, the Vietnamese army changed its offensive strategy and used a flamethrower.

As the name suggests, a flamethrower is a weapon that uses flames to kill people. The flames can not only cause direct damage, but the heat they generate can also deplete the oxygen in a closed space, causing suffocation.

The battle situation at that time was just as the Vietnamese army expected. Wang Gaoyin and others could only retreat to Maoerdong due to the high temperature of the flames.

Wang Gaoyin knew very well that if he did not launch a counterattack, all the soldiers would be burned alive.

Not only that, the flames ejected by the Vietnamese army have ignited some of the surrounding camouflage nets and buildings.

Once the fire spreads, the more than 300 artillery shells accumulated in the position are likely to be ignited and explode. Not only will Wang Gaoyin and others be killed, but the entire No. 54 position will not be able to be saved by then!

So not only must we repel the Vietnamese army, but we must also put out the spreading flames immediately!

However, the flames ejected by the Vietnamese army's flamethrowers have blocked the entrance of the Mao'er Cave, making it impossible to forcefully break out. The situation is very critical.

If you forcibly break through the flame blockade, you will not only be burned, but will even become a "living target" of the Vietnamese army. Therefore, firepower counter-suppression must be formed to force the Vietnamese army to stop the flame attack.

At this time, someone must step forward, even if it means sacrifice, to open the enemy's blockade for other comrades.

In extreme desperation, Wang Gaoyin moved a box of grenades and threw them out of the cave at extremely fast speeds.

More than a dozen grenades exploded near the enemy, and the Vietnamese army had to temporarily stop flame spraying in order to avoid them.

Wang Gaoyin seized this opportunity and rushed out with only a submachine gun and a few grenades without having time to put on a helmet or equip other weapons. His bravery was evident.

Wang Gaoyin showed no fear as he rushed out of the cave. He opened his bow from left to right, fired with a submachine gun in one hand, and threw grenades with the other hand.

Shouted to other soldiers: "Bring me a grenade quickly! The grenades are gone!"

Wang Gaoyin single-handedly formed a formation that the Vietnamese army could not parry. The fire blockade actually repelled the Vietnamese attack.

Seeing that the situation had changed, the comrades in Maoer Dong rushed out of Maoer Dong with washbasins and all objects that could put out the fire, and collectively put out the fire on the shell pile.

In this battle, he not only defended the forefront of Position No. 54, but Wang Gaoyin also created a miracle in this battle: he single-handedly killed 15 Vietnamese soldiers.

5. Won first-class merit and was honorably discharged
