When entering junior high school, the curriculum students learn is very different from that in primary school. Students will be exposed to a number of new learning subjects. New courses in junior high schools include history, geography, physics, chemistry, biology and other subjects, and some subjects will be changed in each grade. Subjects such as Chinese, mathematics, English, ethics and rule of law will be taught throughout the three years of junior high school. Geography, biology, and history are taught in seventh grade, physics is taught in eighth grade, and chemistry is taught in ninth grade.

The reason why the junior high school curriculum is arranged in this way is mainly to consider the students' acceptance ability. Students in the first grade of junior high school who have just entered junior high school are still affected by the learning ideas and habits of primary school. Therefore, it is not suitable to teach physics in the first grade of junior high school. , chemistry and other highly theoretical subjects, and require junior high school mathematics knowledge as a foundation. There are six classes a day in elementary school, and there is not much time for students to use their brains in these six classes. When entering junior high school, the number of classes a day will increase to seven, and students will be exposed to much more complex knowledge in junior high school than in primary school, such as Classical Chinese in Chinese, algebra and geometry in mathematics, systematic language learning in English, etc., all require students to concentrate on learning in class.

Thinking cannot be like listening and playing in primary school. In junior high school, some knowledge teachers will only explain it once and will not repeat it several times like in primary school. There will be no review of each section before the exam. Therefore, the learning courses, learning content, and learning methods of junior high schools are a qualitative leap compared with those of primary schools.
