The images of buddhas and bodhisattvas we see in monasteries and Antang include statues and colorful paintings. In the Buddhist classics, the Buddha once said "Ten Thousand Buddhist Scriptures". Not got it, but made a mistake. Where did this problem come from? The mistake is to treat Buddha and Bodhisattva as gods, bribe him, curry favor with him, and think that you can protect yourself. This is a negotiation, treating Buddha and Bodhisattva as corrupt officials, and you think your mentality is evil. This is something we can't ignore. We can't make mistakes in making decisions. The mistake is really small, but it's a thousand miles away. As for the worship of gods, gods, ghosts and gods, this is an ancient ceremony in China, which is to cultivate respect. We have no requirements for gods and ghosts; Why worship him when you want nothing? We should respect him, we should respect him. The word "respect" is a moral quality. How to cultivate and carry forward this moral character? We have a respect for the gods of heaven and earth, and we should treat everyone, everything and everything with this respect. That's right. This causal relationship changes with each other and continues. So the law of causality is continuous and infinite change, which is the truth of the matter, so the law of causality is not empty. Bloom first, then bear fruit. Flowers are the cause, and the fruit is behind. Therefore, offering flowers is to repair karma. If we spend money properly, we can expect fruitful results. When you see flowers, you should think that we should cultivate a good career so that we can get good results in the future. Offering fruit, fruit represents fruit, is what we hope; Flowers are beautiful. We need to repair them. In Mahayana Buddhism, flowers represent six degrees, such as giving, keeping precepts, enduring humiliation, diligence, meditation and prajna. This is called the flower of six degrees, and then you can get a satisfactory result, that is, offering flowers. But you know, you understand the meaning of the flower stand before the Buddha, just like the students in class, and know that flowers represent deeds. Is that what the flowers we saw outside after leaving the Buddhist temple mean? Everyone has this meaning. So if you know Buddhism, as long as you see flowers, you will mention the reasons why you must practice well. Even the clothes you wear, printed with these patterns, you will know that you need to practice when you see flowers. In this way, remind yourself all the time that you have to fix the cause and fix the good cause, so that you can get good results and good results. This is the meaning of cultivating flowers and fruits. Feeding is really nothing, and it is not very important. Food is to show respect for our hearts. We need a good diet, and we also support Buddha and Bodhisattva with a good diet. This is a commemorative significance, a symbolic significance. Burning incense, which means believing in incense, is a signal and was widely used in ancient times. Most obviously, if you travel to Chinese mainland, you will inevitably visit the Great Wall. You can see that there is a beacon tower every other section of the Great Wall to transmit information. In fact, the beacon tower is like a censer. In ancient times, information was underdeveloped. What method is used to transmit information? Just burn wolf smoke with a bonfire. The density of wolf smoke is different from ordinary smoke, and the wind is not easy to blow away, so this kind of smoke can last for a long time. When you see a bonfire in the distance, you know something has happened, and you use this method to convey the news. We burn incense to show the law, we send messages to buddhas and bodhisattvas, and we feel the way of communication. That's what it means. But the real meaning, we often say that words and deeds are really fragrant, and the five-point method is fragrant. This meaning is very deep. You know what this means. Burning incense can remind you that you will learn more. When we see smoke and smell incense, we think of abstinence, abstinence and wisdom, so it represents the real abstinence from incense and five-point dharma. The first three items of the five-point method are abstinence, determination and wisdom, and the last two items are liberation and liberation, so use this method to remind us. The meaning of lamp is a symbol of wisdom and light. In ancient times, the significance of using oil lamps and candles was more profound and obvious. Actually speaking, the oil lamp really burns itself, and the candle is particularly obvious when it shines on others. This is teaching us that we need wisdom, can sacrifice ourselves for others, serve the society with our wisdom, physical strength and skills, and help all sentient beings without asking for compensation. This is what Buddhism guides us. So that's what it means to burn incense and light candles If you really do this, you will naturally get peace, health and longevity. As for promoting to a higher position and making a fortune, it's all in your life, and it's all causal. Buddha and Bodhisattva can't give you what you don't have in your life. If you have no money in this life, buddhas and bodhisattvas can help you make a fortune. If you have no official position in this life, Buddha and Bodhisattva can give you a senior official, then the law of causality will be overthrown. That makes sense! No matter how wise and powerful Buddha and Bodhisattva are, there is no way to change cause and effect. We can't help wondering whether worldly law is based on cause and effect, and whether Buddhism is based on cause and effect. The Goblet of Fire is a cause and effect, and The Huayan Classic is a five-week cause and effect. Reading all the classics is inseparable from the law of causality. This is something we must be clear about. The simplest means of support, such as poor family, is unable to prepare these means of support, so in front of a Buddha statue, the simplest means of support is a glass of water, which is the most important means of support. What does water stand for? Water represents the heart, water should be clean and the surface should be clean. Waves are flat, representing equality. When you feed this glass of water, you will think of purity and equality when you see the water, which is very important in the feeding group. You don't even burn incense or light candles, and you can't help supporting a glass of water without fragrant flowers or fruits. This is the most important thing in the sacrifice. It stands for purity and equality. When you see water, you will think of yourself in all human beings and material environment. You should know how to cultivate purity and equality. Pure and equal heart is Buddha's heart and sincerity. "
