On the Experience of Visiting Wang Xuetao Art Exhibition

Yesterday, I went to the National Museum of China to visit the Wang Xuetao Art Exhibition with the theme full of life. As a beginner who has just been exposed to Chinese painting for a few months, I don't know much about Chinese painting. In other words, I never thought in my life that I would pick up a brush to learn Chinese painting. It can be said that I know nothing about the genre, techniques and even major painters of Chinese painting. I never thought I would go to the art exhibition. A few months ago, I didn't even know the name of the famous painter Wang Xuetao, which shows how ignorant I am.

Then under what kind of coincidence did I start to learn Chinese painting? Still influenced by my five-year-old daughter. My daughter loves painting, and there are all kinds of painting classes in the studio. Among them are Chinese paintings. At the end of each class, the teacher will post the students' finished works to parents, so we should see all kinds of works. Moreover, every time my daughter sees the finished Chinese painting, she will cheer for joy and often ask me when I can learn Chinese painting. She is only five years old, obviously not old enough to learn Chinese painting. Once in my daughter's studio, I saw the teacher put out an advertisement for enrollment, and learned that adults can learn Chinese painting from scratch, so I gradually had the idea of learning Chinese painting.

Not long after, I saw an advertisement from a Chinese painting learning institution on the Internet saying that I could listen to the experience first, so I signed up for a trial study for more than a month and was able to draw some decent paintings. Since you really like it, why not study systematically? I think, although I will be 40 years old this year, there are still many retired old people in the study group who have begun to study. Compared with them, I am not too young. When I retire, I will be a painter with more than ten years' experience. In this way, unconsciously, I have finished the basic course of Chinese painting and the special course of flowers and birds with my teacher.

At this time, I gradually realized that many cases we studied were only a small part of Wang Xuetao's works. A classmate just told me that the Wang Xuetao Art Exhibition will be held in the National Museum at this time, and I can't wait to see the master's original works up close.

In fact, as a beginner, I basically belong to a layman and can't say anything. I can only talk about my instinctive feelings. As soon as I entered the exhibition hall, I saw a huge picture of pine cranes. These five red-crowned cranes have their own postures, either standing or flying, or raising or lowering their heads, or singing or whispering. The pine tree next to it is tall and vigorous, green and dark, and the blooming camellia is responsible for lighting up the whole picture, which is in harmony with the red crown of the red-crowned crane. Green bamboo branches are interspersed among them, which makes the picture richer and brighter. Perhaps this is the charm of Chinese painting, which makes you indulge in it at a glance, as if you had become a red-crowned crane playing in the forest.

Walking in, there are pictures of jubilation, pictures of Yongmei and pictures of flowers in full bloom. Among them, my favorite painting is "A Hundred Flowers Bloom", which was painted by Wang Xuetao after the downfall of the Gang of Four. The time is 1977. As the name implies, all kinds of flowers in the picture compete with each other, such as camellia, narcissus, lotus, chrysanthemum, magnolia, orchid, peony and iris. , very lively. The picture is colorful, and the painter's joy when making this painting is vividly on the paper.

On the other wall hung works reflecting the artist's interest in life, such as a fat painting of chrysanthemums, complete crabs, crab claws, yellow crabs and crabs on the back. At first glance, there is a picture of life. There are a group of paintings reflecting China New Year, red lanterns hung high, prepared new year's goods, pheasants, fat fish, toy tigers and masks for children, firecrackers, fruits and blooming flowers, all of which reflect the celebration of China New Year. In fact, it also reflects the material shortage in the painter's era. Art comes from life and is higher than life, which is reflected incisively and vividly here.

Further inside, all kinds of feathered animals, such as parrots, magpies, cocks, peacocks, swallows, turtledoves, kingfishers, eagles, pheasants and so on, are lifelike. It fully shows the artist's superb skills and meticulous observation of animals, and when it comes to animal observation, it is more reflected in Wang Xuetao's description of grass insects. Butterflies, dragonflies, cicadas, locusts, bees, mantis, etc. As thin as every wing, it is ready to come out. It is amazing to portray the small insects in the big painting so delicately, which shows that the painter not only has a big pattern, but also has meticulous observation and expression.

What impressed me deeply was that some manuscripts drawn by Wang Xuetao in pencil, such as crab pictures, were displayed in the exhibition. He marked every part of the crab clearly. Before he planned to express it with a brush, he did his homework with sketches before he began to draw. What spirit is this? It is completely the spirit of scientists. I think, in fact, all categories are interlinked. If you want to learn a knowledge or technology well, you can't reach the peak without hard work. The reason why a master becomes a master must be achieved with efforts that others have never used.

In fact, the works and life stories of Wang Xuetao painters can be seen within 100 degrees. I'll just talk about my superficial feelings here. Another thing that moved me was that Wang Xuetao was not only a great painter, but also a patriot. After the July 7th Incident, living in Beiping, he resolutely resigned as a teacher. During the eight-year Anti-Japanese War, he resolutely refused to work for the puppet government and made a living by selling paintings, showing noble national integrity. He can be described as an old artist with both virtue and art.

Looking at the works of masters at close range, I prefer Chinese painting. Although I am only a beginner, I want to appeal to more people to like Chinese painting and love our China culture.
