Graded reading is a successful reading mode for children originated from developed countries and an effective method to improve children's reading ability. The ultimate significance of graded reading is not to let children read a lot of books, but to cultivate children's reading interest, habits and independent reading ability through various experiences and attempts, which not only lays a good foundation for future written language learning, but also promotes children's cognition, personality, self-confidence and good study habits, so that good books can affect children's outlook on life, world outlook and values and lay a good foundation for lifelong development.

According to the requirements of "Guidelines for Kindergarten Education (Trial)", the characteristic of graded reading course is to make children read, create and perform well through target grading, material grading and teaching method innovation. Our college is the experimental base of graded reading sub-topic. In view of the * * * problems in the discussion, we combine teaching practice, collective communication and self-collection of relevant materials to cultivate children's graded reading ability.

First, cultivate children's interest in reading

In the past, teachers often focused on talking and used to ask children to be unified. In this way, children can only listen passively, leaving most children in a negative state. We abandoned some traditional teaching models and tried to use various flexible ways. In addition, when our teachers teach stories in theme activities, they always tell stories first and then answer questions, instead of asking questions while talking, encouraging children to make bold guesses about the development of stories, effectively stimulating children's reading interest. After the activity, they always chat around the story wall chart.

For example, before reading, ask questions first, and let children read books consciously with the psychology of seeking answers. The story of "Nian" goes like this. Ask the children to guess first: Who defeated Nian? After the children put forward their own opinions, please read what is said in the book. You can also set suspense in the middle of the story. The teacher told the story first, and then suddenly stopped at the critical moment. What's the next result? Tell the children to read! At this time, children often can't wait to open books and read them carefully. So as to fully mobilize the initiative and enthusiasm of children. At the same time, stimulate creativity: after reading aloud, ask your child to talk about whether you like the story or not. Why? You can also perform the stories in the book with your children, thus feeling extremely confident and satisfied. It also further stimulated children's interest in reading more and better books.

Encourage children to express their views boldly. Children's imagination is peculiar, which just leads to initiative, exploration and interest.

Individual counseling is the main form, because only in individual counseling can teachers observe personality problems and adopt targeted strategies to guide and help. But the form of collective reading is also indispensable. When individual children can't observe the picture in collective reading, the teacher asks their peers to look for things on the picture, so that they can get reading experience and methods from their peers, not just from the teacher. In addition, the role of peer assistance in groups should not be underestimated. Teachers divide children into groups in a balanced way, and consciously let children with strong ability influence and help children with reading difficulties, with outstanding results.

Although the research topic of graded reading has been finalized, we will not stop cultivating children's reading ability.
