The Legend of Xinyang Maojian Tea

Xinyang Maojian Tea is a famous green tea, which is produced in Xinyang City, China. It has many legends and stories.

According to legend, during the drought in Xinyang in the Tang Dynasty, people prayed for rain. Suddenly, the sky was overcast, with thunder and lightning and heavy rain. Xinyang tea farmers have thrown fresh tea into the ground, hoping to pray for the continuous heavy rain through the power of tea. Then, a heavy rain poured down and Xinyang came back to life. Since then, Xinyang tea farmers have called this kind of tea "Maojian", which means bringing good luck and rain to Xinyang.

Another legend is that in the Ming Dynasty, a tea farmer noticed a thin layer of white hair on his tea buds. He picked these special teas, and the processed teas showed unique flavor and appearance. This kind of tea is called "Xinyang Maojian Tea" and soon became the signature product of local tea farmers.

No matter which legend, Xinyang Maojian tea has won the love of tea lovers with its unique taste, aroma and color. Usually characterized by yellow-green leaves, tender buds and white hair, it tastes fresh and sweet.
