Why is Nanchang called "China Water Capital"?

In fact, Nanchang's most famous nickname is not "China Water Capital", but there is a reason for this title.

As can be seen from the name "China Water Capital", Nanchang must be a city rich in water resources. From this perspective, Nanchang is a well-deserved water city. First of all, talk about the relationship between Nanchang and the Yangtze River. Nanchang is located in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, and the Ganjiang River, a major tributary of the Yangtze River, flows through the downtown area of Nanchang, thus forming many famous lakes in Nanchang. Speaking of the laudatory name of "China Water Capital", it is still quite controversial. Suzhou, Danjiangkou and Jiaxing all have related resources and the title of "China Water Capital". Take Danjiangkou as an example. It is located in the upper reaches of the Han River. There is a well-known reservoir-Danjiangkou Reservoir, which is at the core of the important route of South-to-North Water Transfer Project in China. The title of "China Water Capital" is also very popular.

In recent years, it has been reported that the water level in Poyang Lake has reached a new low, and the water quality problem in Nanchang is also worrying, and people have begun to pay attention to the water resources problem. Not only Nanchang, the "water capital of China", but also other areas where water resources are abundant or scarce, water resources are a gift from nature and will never return.
