Looking at Lushan Waterfall by Li Bai, a great poet in the Tang Dynasty, is a poem by Li Bai describing the huge water potential of the waterfall, which has been passed down through the ages. This poem was written around 725 AD (13th year of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty), when Li Bai visited Lushan Mountain for the first time on his way to Jinling, which is now Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province. Lushan Waterfall is also known as one of the top ten most beautiful waterfalls in China. So is the "Milky Way" in this poem "Doubt is the Milky Way for Nine Days" what we call the Milky Way now?

The word Milky Way has existed in ancient China, and it was also called Tianhe, Han Yin, Xinghe, Xinghan and Han Yun in ancient times. It is a milky white bright belt across the starry sky. The ancient world was generally underdeveloped in science and technology, and people yearned for the sky and starry sky, so some poets used poetry to express their yearning for the Milky Way.

For example, Du Fu wrote in "Pavilion Night" that "Stark sings the fifth watch-beating drums and blowing trumpets, and the milky way sky passes through three mountains". It means that during the fifth watch, it was freezing, and the bugle in the army sounded so tragic. The milky way in the sky is reflected on the river surface of the Three Gorges, and the reflection of the stars keeps shaking on the water surface. It means that the mica screen reveals the deep light and shadow of the candle, the milky way gradually sets and the morning star disappears.
