The guest travels under the green mountains and sails in front of the green water.

The tide is flat, the banks are wide, the wind is blowing and the sail is hanging.

Hai Ri is born and the night is over, and Jiang Chun is entering the old year.

Rhyme translation:

Tourists pass by the foot of the green Beigu Mountain, and the boat moves forward with the blue river water.

The spring tide is rising, and the river on both sides of the river is wider. When sailing with the wind, it is just right to hang the sail high.

The red sun breaks through the remaining night and rises from the sea, and the spring breeze blows on the river in the early and late spring.

I don’t know when the letter I sent home will arrive. When will Guiyan fly to Luoyang?

Commentary:

This poem is written about traveling in the river at the end of winter and early spring, and the scenery arouses feelings and homesickness. It begins with a couplet, describing the feelings of wandering and traveling longing for one's hometown. The second couplet describes the boating on the river with "flat tide" and "positive wind", which is a magnificent scene. The triptych depicts the scene of sailing at dawn, and the contrast implies a philosophy, "describing the scenery is wonderful through the ages", giving people a progressive artistic charm. The last couplet sees wild geese missing relatives, echoing the first couplet. The whole poem is shrouded in a faint layer of nostalgia.
