In the deep mountains of Lishui, Zhejiang, there is a place called "Ancient Weir Painting Township", which has been developed into an ancient town scenic spot. When crossing the river by boat, the boat will pass through a long waterway full of reeds. After landing, there is a special Tongji weir museum on the other side. The construction technology of Tongji weir is very special. Thousands of years ago, a series of scientific principles and advanced technologies were applied to create the form of arch dam. The building material of the ancient weir was originally a wooden gravel dam, and later it was changed to a "stone dam" in 1205 (Southern Song Dynasty). The whole dam body of the ancient weir has always maintained the characteristics of ancient arch structure.

In the original local estuary topography, floods are very easy to occur. The construction of this ancient weir has turned the local area thousands of miles away into a fertile landscape. Follow the trails and signs, and you will see "Tongji Weir" when you come to the river. "Tongji Weir" is a comprehensive water conservancy facility. Its dam is arched, but now it is more like an S-shape, which can resist the impact of floods and divide water between rivers and irrigation channels according to the amount of water.

Because of the recent heavy rain, the water level is very high and the flood overflows the top of the ancient weir. It can be seen that under the flood condition, a large amount of water is poured into the downstream of the river, but the normal flow of farmland irrigation channels is still maintained on the side, so the ancient weir has two adaptability in normal working condition and flood working condition. In the flood, fishermen still stood on the ancient weir and cast nets to fish. There seems to be their own fishing function here.
