What is a piggy fish?

Astronotus ocellatus, commonly known as map fish and piglet fish, belongs to Perciformes and Anthuridae. A large fish native to the Amazon River in South America, with a body length of up to 30 cm, oval shape, flat side, high body, large mouth, slightly sharp nose and mouth, long dorsal fin base, dark brown body, irregular orange and red patches on the side, which looks like a map, is highly adaptable to water quality and suitable for water temperature of 22 ~ 26℃. It is a carnivorous and fierce fish.

Fins are not only decorative but also practical. The posterior edges of dorsal fin and gluteal fin are wide, and the caudal fin is round and paddle-shaped.
