For those who can't go abroad during the epidemic, Xishuangbanna's warm Southeast Asian style is the biggest reason to attract many people to play in the past. The unique natural scenery and diverse cultural customs in tropical areas are enough to make people have a deeper impression on colorful Yunnan.

However, in general, the tourism development in Xishuangbanna is not particularly perfect, and the scenic spots are far away. It is recommended to stay for a few more days and punch in at will with the most relaxed mood and attitude.

Among the residents of Xishuangbanna, the most unforgettable Buddhist temple and park, Dai people account for the largest proportion, and Southern Buddhism has a far-reaching influence on Dai society, so temples of different sizes can be seen everywhere in Xishuangbanna. For tourists, whether they believe in Buddhism or not, they are generally interested in visiting. I also like to visit. In Xishuangbanna, I visited almost 10 temples of all sizes.

Most foreign tourists go to xishuangbanna tourism. When visiting temples, the first choice is the Big Buddha Temple in Meng Ling, a suburb of Jinghong.

After the reconstruction of the Great Buddha Temple, its reputation as a big scenic spot has gradually increased, and on the whole, it has become more grand. There is a giant Buddha standing halfway up the mountain, and the visual experience is very spectacular. On the top of the mountain, you can also see the whole picture of Jinghong city, so many tourists will be attracted here.

But I still don't recommend you to go. First, you need tickets for 120 yuan (I really don't think it's worth it). Secondly, its reputation feels artificially exaggerated. Just looking at the temples, there are countless free temples worth seeing in Xishuangbanna.

In Jinghong, the temple I recommend most is the General Buddhist Temple, which is connected with Man Ting Park, so we put it together.

The General Buddhist Temple and Man Ting Park are very suitable places to visit in Jinghong City. It takes about half a day to visit them together. I suggest going to the main Buddhist temple first. It's relatively small, so you can go around it carefully and buy a ticket from the next side door to enter Man Ting Park. Man Ting Park is relatively large, so it takes time and energy to visit it.

Before liberation, the General Buddhist Temple was the sacred place for the highest ruler (literally translated as landlord or king) and his toast to worship Buddha in Xishuangbanna, and it was also the highest-ranking Buddhist temple in Xishuangbanna.

The whole Buddhist temple covers an area of about 3000 square meters, including a Buddhist temple, a Buddhist college and a monk's room. The architectural colors are mainly gold and red, which is quite southeast Asian. After renovation, the building is relatively new. Looking up at the giant Buddha standing on the roof or in the courtyard, you can feel its glory.

The courtyard of the temple is quiet, and there are not many tourists, who will unconsciously whisper to each other. Whether you visit the bamboo Buddha in the main hall or look at the list of donations around the small tower, you will feel both surprised and relaxed.

Beautiful buildings, bright colors, banana trees, palm trees and papaya tree naturally growing in the yard can all take good photos at your fingertips. But it is more recommended to sit on the bench in the yard for a while, or find a shady corner to stand for a while and experience a moment of peace.

Stay in the main Buddhist temple for at least an hour, so that you can have a close look at the colorful glass decorations on the building, the clean lotus water tank in the yard and the unfamiliar Buddhist materials in the temple outside the house. These tiny things will add a lot of fun to visiting temples.

Man Ting Park was originally the imperial garden of the Dai king, covering an area of more than 400 mu. It is a rural park relying on the natural landscape. It is recommended to go during the day and at night it is like a bonfire party. Because of the epidemic, I bought a ticket for 20 yuan on the spot when I went there before, which was super cost-effective.

In addition to the tropical rainforest-like landscape, there are also lake views, as well as peacock pavilions, elephant pavilions and other diverse small attractions. In Man Ting Park, you can eat, drink and be merry. You can watch elephants, have afternoon tea, visit the Dai palace and soak your feet.

This park is relatively large. Just walk right along the lake after entering the main Buddhist temple. I don't think it necessary to rent a battery car. You can walk completely. Here are some places worth punching in.

After the goddess of the earth passes through a lush green tree and flowers, turn right and you will see the goddess of the earth. The goddess's long black hair hangs down, with a small Buddha statue standing on all sides, and then a golden sink. The three-layer structure and the golden blue-red tone are very beautiful.

In addition, it is said that the goddess of the earth once squeezed a flood out of her hair and drowned the devil who interfered with the Buddha's practice. It is said that the washstand under the goddess of the earth can not only wash hands, but also wash away bad luck and bring good luck.

If you go any further, you will see Xiaobai. This Manxi Dragon and Bamboo Shooting Pagoda, known as the model of Xishuangbanna Buddha Pagoda, is white and dotted with little gold, which is more exquisite and unique under the shadow of phoenix bamboo and bodhi trees. People who go to Man Ting Park will shoot many movies here.

The coffee shop of the Royal Elephant Cafe is a brick-red building with a large lawn and blue sky and green decorations at the door, which is even more dreamy. The interior decoration is general, and there are fewer service personnel, usually one or two people. The whole atmosphere is lazy, not bad. When you are tired, you can go in to cool off, drink freshly ground and cooked Yunnan bean coffee, eat coconut-flavored ice cream, and then take photos on the second floor of the coffee shop. It's perfect.

Dai Palace was the palace of the Kingdom of Meng Ling at that time. Although the scale is not large, the golden buildings and indoor scenery can still feel the elegance of Dai Wang. There is an elephant foot drum about ten meters long in the invisible exhibition hall outside the palace, which is also very shocking to see.

You can also visit Premier Zhou Memorial Square next to the Forbidden City, which will remind people of a text I learned when I was a child, an unforgettable water-splashing festival, and some stories about Premier Zhou.

After shopping, talk about food.

● Lolo igloo (Shawan International Shop)

Lolo igloo is highly recognized in Xishuangbanna. This is an ancient igloo. At first, I went to his house for dinner because of the recommendation of the driver's master.

This shop smells like a coffee shop, and its interior decoration is retro. In addition to dessert drinks such as coffee, shaved ice and paoluda, there are also staple snacks such as curry rice, pasta and bean jelly. It is delicious, cheap, heavy and cost-effective.

We recommend Paoluda (also called Paruda), lemon bean jelly, shaved ice with fruit and tofu. Paoluda toast he made was soft, with thick coconut juice and rich taste. Lemon jelly is spicy and smells like lemon. I can eat a big plate myself, which is super summer-relieving. Fruit shaved ice tastes soft and fruity, and it is best to eat mango in summer.

It is also recommended to eat wrapped tofu instead of stinky tofu. The fried tofu is dipped in special dip or dried Chili noodles, and the king of snacks is him.

You must not miss the night market. After you go to Xishuangbanna, there is another very important thing, that is, to visit the lively and delicious night market.

● Starlight Night Market

I don't need to say more about the name of Starlight Night Market. It is a famous scenic spot among network celebrities in Xishuangbanna, and it is also the least disappointing one among many scenic spots of network celebrities. It attracts countless people between Gaozhuang Scenic Area and Dajinta Temple. It is no exaggeration to use it to describe it.

After sunset, the night market lights up like stars in the night sky.

● Binjiang Night Market (Binjiang Night Market)

Binjiang Night Market is next to Binjiang Avenue opposite the Starlight Night Market. If you ask the local people for directions, ask Binjiang Night Market. Navigation can directly guide the riverside night market.

The riverside night market is very long, about several kilometers, and it is a night market frequented by local people. The style and scale are slightly different from those of Starlight Night Market. Starlight Night Market is relatively simple, not as rich and beautiful as Starlight Night Market, but the price is relatively close to the people. Most of them are about one third cheaper than Starlight Night Market, and they are also local tyrants.

I really like to see the layout of each food stall. When bamboo dustpans are spread out and things are placed on banana leaves and iron plates, many of them are beautiful.

The food is similar to the starlight night market. I suggest you eat cool fruits, and all kinds of fruits can be mixed. Mixed with pineapple, mango, hawthorn, fruit has its own sweet and sour flavor and pepper, which looks abnormal, but it really can't stop eating.

You must also eat net baked tofu. It's interesting to squat in front of the stall and watch tofu slowly turn yellow, swell and collapse. When you are thirsty, go to the juice stand and buy a cup of passion fruit butter juice to open a new world of taste.

When I was in Xishuangbanna, playing and watching the scenery were the second, and eating was the most important. Especially in the morning, I haven't slept in, because I got up late and the rice noodles in the shop outside disappeared. Plus two or three bags of old iced coffee a day, the spirit is very good, and it is impossible to go to bed early from morning till night.

Just visiting Jinghong, I suggest you stay at least two whole days.

Finally, regarding the choice of what to eat, you can ask the driver when you take a taxi or rent a car. Generally, the shops they recommend are popular with local people, delicious and cost-effective. At this point, I feel much better than Lijiang drivers, who are also popular tourist destinations in Yunnan.
