Of all the books I have read, I like the old things in the south of the city best. This book is divided into two parts: Old Things in the South of the City and Old Things in Beiping, which mainly tells the story of the author Lin's childhood in the south of old Beijing. My mother bought this book according to the teacher's request, but after I bought it, I just stuffed it into the bookcase until I met the present teacher Zhang. Since last semester, Mr. Zhang has assigned a reading task, asking us to read and punch in every day, and write out the gains and feelings from it. Under teacher Zhang's "forced" reading, I began to read the old things in the south of the city. I didn't expect to be attracted without reading a few pages. I think Lin's writing style is like a magic wand, which has brought me into an unprecedented world. The story is so close to reality that there is no trace of deliberate fabrication. When reading, I always prepare a small notebook to extract the wonderful parts of the book. On one occasion, Teacher Zhang asked us to write a composition about childhood. I thought about it and decided to write down my cousin's experience of taking me to "steal" sweet potatoes when I was a child. But when I took out my composition and wrote it, I froze. Due to the erosion of time, my memory of this matter is not clear, so I can't write it. Unconsciously, my thoughts drifted away and I couldn't concentrate on the experience of "stealing" sweet potatoes. Until I accidentally turned my head and saw the reading notebook my brother was playing with. "aha! I have an idea! " I let out a cry proudly, and then, like a hungry wolf pouncing on food, I snatched the reading notebook from my brother and turned around to record the contents of the old events in the south of the city. I decided to write my memories in the way of old things in the south of the city. Many things happen. I have racked my brains to combine my memories with the good words and sentences in Old Things in the South of the City to form a vivid and concrete composition. Teacher Zhang not only commented and encouraged the whole class on this composition, but also gave me a great "Excellence". Since then, I often "hang out" with old things in the south of the city.
