Why do some people say that Russia is a fighting nation?

So why did China call Russia a "fighting nation"? Is Russia really a fighting nation?

What is a "fighting nation"?

There is an explanation in Baidu Encyclopedia: "Fighting nation" is a mockery of Russians, without any humiliation or irony. Russians are described like this because they are tough, and they often do strange and ridiculous things. In addition, there are other explanations on the Internet, such as "the Russian nation has been in a state of fighting since its formation".

But few Russians agree with the label "fighting nation", because in the eyes of Russians, "fighting nation" means "fierceness" and "aggression". Some media reporters once asked several Russians about the word "fighting nation", and they all said that they had never heard of the word and did not think it was a compliment.

So what is the fighting nation in the eyes of most people in China?

In fact, in recent decades, especially in the last decade, Russia has fought several wars: the Chechen war, the Georgian war, the Ukrainian war and the Syrian war!

In these wars, the Russians led by Putin intervened decisively, with a very tough attitude, and dared to use violent means against Europe and the United States-this is in obvious contrast with our "hiding our light and hiding our time"!

So is Russia really a fighting nation?

In fact, in my opinion, if Russia can be called a fighting nation, then China is the ancestor of the fighting nation, because we are the only surviving country among the four ancient civilizations!

Ancient Egypt, Babylon and India all perished in the battle against foreign invasion, but how many disasters China has experienced since 5,000 years still stands.

In fact, in my opinion, if Russia can be called a fighting nation, then these wars should not take place in Chechnya, Georgia, Ukraine and Syria, but in Kosovo, Estonia, Latvia and even Turkey!

Why do you say that?

Because the war in Chechnya, the war in Georgia, the war in Ukraine, and the war in Syria are all based on the fact that Europe and the United States put the knife rest around Russia's neck. If Russia does not take action, it will almost perish!

It can be said that since 199 1 the disintegration of the Soviet Union, European and American countries have never given up their contacts with Russia-because Russia's powerful nuclear weapons and huge territorial area have made Europe and the United States too worried. If this bear is not injured, Europe and America will never rest assured!

We can see the following picture: In 2004, NATO approved Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Romania and Bulgaria to join, among which Estonia and Latvia have already bordered Russia-that is, Russia and NATO have no strategic buffer zone!

As I told you before, it is very dangerous for a big country to have no strategic buffer zone, because if a big country supports a small neighboring country to have a war with itself, it may be dragged into an endless quagmire of war, so neighboring countries must establish pro-own regimes within their own control!

Estonia and Latvia joined NATO, and Russia should support pro-Russian forces to crack down on pro-European and American forces, directly dragging NATO into the quagmire of war and forcing NATO to stop expanding! However, Russia has not done so. Why?

Because Russia doesn't have the guts to do that!

So why did Ukraine and Georgia join NATO, while Russia started a war?

The root cause is that this war has to be fought!

Let's take a look at several wars after World War II. Korean War, Vietnam War and Afghanistan War all ended in the failure of two superpowers!

Why did it fail?

In addition to the support of other big countries behind these countries, the most important reason is that they all have complex terrain! Among them, Afghanistan and North Korea are mountainous, Vietnam is mountainous and there are tropical rainforests-modern weapons can't play much role!

Without these special terrain, if it is plain, then even with the support of big countries, it is difficult to win as long as you don't send troops directly!

For example, Iraq and Syria are basically plains, and the United States and Russia can win quickly after direct intervention and will not fall into the quagmire of war!

On the contrary, the United States has been involved in Afghanistan since 200 1, and it has been 16 years now, and it has not won. The root cause is the mountainous terrain in Afghanistan!

This is the fundamental reason why Russia did not wage war when Estonia and Latvia joined NATO in 2004-both countries are in the European plain, and even after joining NATO, the threat to Russia is not so great. As long as Russia attacks it, NATO cannot drag Russia into the quagmire of war!

Even so, it can't hide Russia's weakness! Because this directly led to NATO's growing courage, it began to touch on Russia's core interests, encouraged Chechnya's independence, and supported Ukraine and Georgia to join NATO!

Once this place is controlled by NATO, Russia can be dragged into the quagmire of war. Although Ukraine is a plain, there is an extremely important place in Ukraine, Crimea, which Russia cannot lose-the home of the Russian Black Sea Fleet!

The Kosovo war was a large-scale air raid. With the absolute superiority of air power and high-tech weapons, NATO led by the United States bombed the military targets and infrastructure of Yugoslavia for 78 consecutive days.

However, Russia is afraid to participate in this war. Is this a fighting nation?

After the war, Russia was completely squeezed out of the original sphere of influence in Eastern Europe.

Let's take a look at the topographic map of the Balkans. If Russia can maintain its influence in the Balkans, it can always hold a gun at the top of Europe with its complex mountainous terrain!

It can be said that if Russia is really a "fighting nation", then Estonia and Latvia should be "established" at that time!

But Russia didn't have the courage, just launched a strong protest, just afraid to start work! It is precisely because of this that NATO is getting bolder and bolder and begins to touch on Russia's core interests-it wants to include Georgia and Ukraine in NATO!

How important Georgia is to Russia, let me give you an example and everyone will know!

The separatist tendency in Georgia was very serious during the Soviet era. Stalin was a Georgian, but Stalin always adopted a policy of suppressing Georgia!

As for Ukraine, it has been said many times before that Crimea is the base of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. If we lose Crimea, Russia's strength will be reduced by at least half!

So, don't think that Russia is really so tough. Actually, Russia is very timid! These wars are not because Russia is a "fighting nation", but because it has to fight!

In fact, China is far more powerful than you think!

Over the years, although China has not used war to establish its prestige, China has established all strategic buffer zones on land by non-war means-at present, there are no American military bases in countries bordering China!
