Impression of emergency department

I went to the emergency department this month and was arranged by my boss in the front building. Life in emergency department is really different from that in inpatient department. The summary is as follows:

1. Many patients. There are 7 consultation rooms in the whole emergency department, ranging from 700 ~ 800 patients to 1300~ 1500 person-times. The busiest time is the Spring Festival. So the teaching doctor there told us: "The festival I fear most is the Spring Festival."

2. There are many diseases. Frequently-occurring diseases, rare diseases, strange diseases and difficult diseases of all systems are easy to see. The most common diseases are fever, cold, stomachache and tumor patients who need blood transfusion or hemodialysis. At the same time, there are many patients with chronic diseases who should not have come to the emergency room, but came here for convenience. So it is not surprising that patients have to wait for two or three hours after registration.

3. Patients are more easily excited. When they are upset, they will easily feel that their illness is the most urgent, and they can't wait to jump in line to see it at once.

Computers, mice, printers in emergency departments and electronic information systems in hospitals are as bad as those in inpatient departments, and problems occur every day. The hospital's electronic information system has seriously delayed the development of the times, and I really want to scold ta for killing me.

There are always not enough beds in the emergency room and lobby.

6. Sometimes you will find that the problem is not serious and you don't need a house call at all. The main reason is that transfer fees is too cheap. Ambulance travel has always been cheaper than taxis, and it is almost the same now.

7. Every teacher in the front building of the emergency department is very kind to our students and interns, and most of them have a good attitude towards patients.

8. I really learned more than in the ward.

9. Don't waste so much time looking for laboratory tests, video reports, posting laboratory tests and the whole medical record as in the ward.

10. I was exhausted after the night shift. Fortunately, I have a rest.
