After the college entrance examination, do you know where the must-visit places in China are?

Of course I would recommend Greater Inner Mongolia. I don’t know if it’s suitable for graduation, but it’s quite suitable for summer travel.

Accommodation

Accommodation in Hohhot is still very affordable. There are many hotels and serviced apartments. In many business districts, you can have a small apartment of 30-50 square meters for about 200 yuan. If you are staying for a long time, you can also ask the boss in advance if you can get a discount.

Eating

Even those who don’t like mutton can show off several plates of mutton rolls when they come to Inner Mongolia. Anyway, my old man went to Inner Mongolia to eat hot pot for the first time, and he couldn’t live without the smell of hot pot. I was willing to wash it and said I would take it out to smell the Inner Mongolian mutton to satisfy my cravings when I couldn’t eat it. In fact, in addition to hot pot, I also recommend these delicious dishes:

The most recommended siomai

The siomai stuffed with mutton is really amazing, and there is oil in your mouth when you bite it. The smell slowly wafts out. It’s really different from the siomai in other places. If you go there, you really have to give it a try! Just be careful when ordering! The siomai in Inner Mongolia is calculated in taels. Eight taels are equivalent to one tael. Generally, 1 tael is enough for girls. For boys, it depends on the situation. My old man can show off two taels and a half.

Secondly, the large-plate chicken

The restaurant I went to has been open for many years and is always full of people. Although the price has increased compared to when I was in school, the taste remains the same. For girls, a small portion is enough. Add some noodles and mix it in. It’s super delicious! Although I also tasted authentic large-scale chicken in Xinjiang, the taste difference between the two places is quite big. Personally, I prefer the taste of large-scale chicken from my hometown. In addition, Mongolian food cannot be missed. It would be a pity not to eat Mongolian food when visiting Inner Mongolia. There are many Mongolian restaurants in the urban area, with a more comfortable environment and more transparent prices. A must-order is milk tea. If there are a lot of people, you can cook it in one pot. If there are not many people, order it by the pot. Milk tea is very caloric. You may not be able to eat after a few bowls. You must order the meat on hand to restore the original flavor of the mutton. Just order the grilled buns and so on. However, if you want to eat the roasted leg of lamb, it is best to ask in advance to avoid the leg being too big for you.

Finally, boiled mutton and ice-cooked mutton

There is no way to describe the taste in words. If you love mutton, you will definitely fall in love with the taste of these two. In fact, there are many snacks in Inner Mongolia that taste like my childhood. Many people may not find them strange, but I really haven’t tasted similar tastes in any city except Inner Mongolia. For example, stuffed skin is called cold skin in many places, but you will know it is different after eating it. It is best to eat it in the Hui area. Add a side of cold noodles (which is also different from ordinary cold noodles). It is really delicious! It’s better to go to a restaurant to eat mutton skewers. Almost every restaurant has mutton skewers. Haggis is served with baked dumplings. Baked dumplings are a kind of breakfast in Hohhot. They are similar to roasted pancakes and sesame pancakes. There are no fillings. There are beef tongue baked dumplings (I’m talking about the appearance, there is no beef tongue inside), and puff pastry baked dumplings. It's delicious with siomai or paired with haggis.

After talking about eating, let’s talk about fun. When you go to Inner Mongolia, you have to go to the grasslands. Basically, the grasslands around Hohhot are quite satisfactory, and they are definitely different from the ones you see on TV. If there is good rain that year, the grass on the grassland will be tall and dense. If there is little rain, it will basically look like grassland from a distance and turf up close. This has been managed, and I hope it will get better and better in the future. It takes more than 2 hours to drive to the surrounding grasslands. You can rent a car when you set off, and it is very convenient to navigate. Don't even think about riding a galloping horse. You can't control those tall horses, and the herdsmen don't dare to let you control them. When going to the grassland, be sure to wear a coat, and if possible, bring a hat. When the wind blows, it will make your head buzz. The temperature in the grassland will be lower than in the city, so you must take measures to prevent insects. I don’t recommend spending the night in a yurt. After all, it’s uncomfortable. It depends on personal preference. In the past, yurts held bonfire parties at night for receptions (for tourist groups). I haven’t been to the summer vacation in many years, so now I don’t know how to perform.
