Appreciation of Ji Hongchang's Poems (Yi Poems)

1928 In the spring, Zhou Wenyong was unfortunately arrested together with Chen Tiejun. In prison, the enemy tortured him, such as "sticking his finger in his heart and flying off the plane", but he remained firm and wrote this immortal poem of Changhong on the prison wall. "The head can be broken, the limbs can be broken, and the revolutionary spirit can't be extinguished", which shows the author's unyielding spirit. He used decapitation and amputation to show the heroic spirit of party member who risked his life and death for the revolution, and wrote the lofty character and firm confidence of revolutionaries who won despite the enemy's extinction policy. "The head of a strong man falls for the party, and the body of a brave man falls for the group." In the poem, the head of a strong man corresponds to the body of a brave man, expressing the author's great ambition for the cause of the party and the cause of people's liberation, even if it is shattered. Shortly after the author wrote this poem, he and his comrade-in-arms Chen Tiejun died heroically. On the way to the execution ground, they shouted revolutionary slogans and sang "Internationale", and people along the way were moved by them. On the execution ground, they made a final speech with passion and announced their wedding in public, which reflected the lofty spirit and great sentiment of the revolutionaries and realized their promise in the poem.
