Gauge blocks or materials of gauge blocks require wear resistance, corrosion resistance and small thermal expansion coefficient. There are three commonly used types:

Hard alloy steel: CrWMn can be used as plug gauge;

Tool steel: T 10 can be used as a feeler gauge;

Generally, steel should be normalized, machined, quenched, tempered and ground.

Ceramic (small size) marble (large size).
