Every city has its own unique ancient street. Speaking of Chongqing, this ancient street is Ciqikou Town of course. The earliest name of Ciqikou was Bai Yanchang. There used to be a temple here, so it is called this name. This temple has a long history and is the only one preserved among many temples in many ancient towns. In the past, the forest was dense and a hundred birds contended.

There are 16 temples and 372 Buddha statues in it. Unfortunately, the temples were destroyed in the war in the late Ming Dynasty, leaving only one hall. During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, a surviving temple was also bombed and destroyed by Japanese planes. During the Republic of China, because it was very convenient to transport water here, many businessmen set up shops in Ciqikou and transported some cotton yarn, cloth, kerosene, salt, sugar and other daily necessities back and forth.

At that time, Ciqikou had more than 300 cargo ships entering and leaving the dock every day, each with a load of about 10 ton. There are more than 670 workshops/KLOC-0 and more than 760 vendors. Because of these businessmen, the town was renamed as Porcelain Mouth, because it was more people-friendly and smoother. Later, the magnetic meanings of porcelain and magnets were the same, so this town was called Ciqikou Town.

Businessmen can be seen everywhere on the docks of this town from morning till night, both on water and on land. Go through this alley, and then go inside, it is the old house. This is the most distinctive alley in Ciqikou. Chongqing was originally a mountain city. The biggest feature of the mountain city is the sense of hierarchy and rhythm. Walking on the wet bluestone road and enjoying the silence and poetry around it is really a very comfortable feeling.
