Many famous actors went there to sing. Every time Kang Wansheng passed by there, he couldn't help but listen to the opera. meeting. He especially likes painted faces and dreams of singing with painted faces when he grows up. I was also influenced by my brother Kang Wansong when I fell in love with opera. At that time, they both loved opera very much, but due to family conditions, the elder brother gave up the opportunity to enter the opera school and became a worker to support him in studying opera. Over the years, he has always felt that he owed his elder brother a lot. He is a very important person.

In 1957, when Kang Wansheng was 11 years old, he was admitted to the Little Red Flower Children's Art Theater. A year later, he applied for Tianjin Theater School. That year, Kang Wansheng was the youngest and smallest among the candidates. While other candidates sang on the floor, Kang Wansheng stood on a box. Perhaps because he was too immature, he failed this exam. Kang Wansheng thought that if he wanted to make achievements in Peking Opera, he must pass the opera school. So, from this year onwards, he studied opera even more diligently, practicing in the winter and during the summer. Except when eating and sleeping, he stopped thinking about how to sing the opera well all the time. Hard work paid off, and he applied again the next year and was successfully admitted to the Tianjin Opera School. It was a romantic affair

Speaking of his marriage to his wife, Mr. Kang Wansheng said with a smile: "It was a romantic affair." In 1974, Kang Wansheng met Song Meifu through someone else's introduction. At that time, Song Meifu was a worker in a hardware factory, while Kang Wansheng, who was keen on Peking opera, worked in a bicycle factory. Kang Wansheng said to Song Meifu: "From now on, if you marry me, I will sing for you every day." Song Meifu thought to herself that this young man is quite reliable and silly, and will not bully him in the future. After meeting several times, the two established a relationship. Song Meifu has no interest in Peking Opera and does not like to listen to it. At first, Kang Wansheng was preoccupied with talking about Peking Opera with Song Meifu. It was not until Song Meifu was speechless that Kang Wansheng realized that the girl had no interest in Peking Opera. Many years later, when Song Meifu talked about his feelings at that time, he said: "If I hadn't seen him as a good character and not evil-minded towards people, I wouldn't have dated him."

Since I'm not interested in Peking Opera, I would have changed. a form of entertainment. One winter, they watched a movie in the First Palace. One performance ended, and another one was performed. After the movie ended, it was already past midnight. Snowflakes were falling all over the sky outside, and the snow on the ground had begun to freeze. Kang Wansheng pushed the bicycle and Song Meifu walked slowly. Although the weather is very cold, the two young hearts are warm. At around two o'clock in the morning, Kang Wansheng sent Song Meifu to his home in Tonglou. Song Meifu's grandma gave Kang Wansheng a slap in the face with ideological education. After everything was explained clearly, Kang Wansheng pushed his bicycle back to his home. After that, Song Meifu decided to marry Kang Wansheng. In 1975, Kang Wansheng and Song Meifu got married. The Kang family set up 13 banquet tables in the courtyard, priced at 30 yuan per table, which was considered a good wedding banquet in those days. The Kang family bought Song Meifu "big" betrothal gifts such as a Seagull brand watch and a Hongqi brand bicycle. After getting married, Kang Wansheng was asked to wear the watch. Since Song Meifu couldn't ride a bicycle, Kang Wansheng was also allowed to ride the bicycle. Kang Wansheng often joked: "These are all bought for you." Song Meifu would also add: "You have benefited from me."

Song Meifu didn't know much about Peking Opera, so he didn't know much about Kang Wansheng. I didn't take his performance too seriously. By chance, Song Meifu learned about her husband's hard work. That winter, Song Meifu went backstage to find Kang Wansheng, who was resting at that time. Someone brought a thermos pot, and Kang Wansheng actually squeezed a pot of sweat out of his cotton-padded jacket in front of everyone.

After Kang Wansheng learned about it, he hid in his room alone and cried loudly. Since becoming a disciple of Mr. Fang Rongxiang in 1979, although there are not many opportunities to meet him (one is in Tianjin and the other is in Shandong), the guidance given by him in art has been of great help to Kang Wansheng.
