Several interesting ancient poems and couplets

According to legend, Su Dongpo and two friends took a boat to Jiujiang Gate 2 to catch the exam. On the way, they missed the exam because of water accumulated in Hongqiao shed, so the examiner made a make-up exam, and only when he checked out immediately could they make an exception:

"A boat, carrying two or three students, walked by water for four or five days, and arrived in Jiujiang on seven trips and eight trips. It was very late." Su Dongpo, who is witty, thinks a little and skillfully uses the "reciprocal" bridge segment to match the "sequence number" in the upper part:

"Ten years of cold window, read 98 volumes of poetry books, entered the examination room in 765, and went back to the second door four times, bent on entering."

It's amazing.

Carpenter's masterpiece

A long time ago, a fisherman in Shan Ye wrote a couplet:

"One boat, two passengers, three four five six sailors, seven or eight feet sail, ten miles from Jiujiang."

It was not until 1959 that a worker in Foshan had a sudden inspiration when transporting wood "Murraya murraya" that he made the bottom line:

"Ten Liu Yun, nine Li Xiang, No.8765, although it has taken four or three years, two days are better than one year."
