The director of the kindergarten Songkran Festival delivered the following speech:

In hot summer and passionate August, Rainbow Kindergarten held a grand parent-child swimming activity. Let children get in close contact with water in hot summer, wander in the world of water and grow up in the game of water, so that children can feel a special coolness and beauty from this summer. Enjoy the fun of playing with water in the world, let the childlike innocence be released and let the children spend a happy and unforgettable summer in the water world.

The origin of the Songkran Festival:

The Songkran Festival originated in Persia in the 5th century. At that time, the Songkran Festival was called "throwing cold water on Hu Xi". After that, "Lenghu Opera" was introduced to Myanmar, Thailand, China, Xishuangbanna and other places through Persia and India. In the original sense, the Songkran Festival symbolizes people's simple desire to conquer natural forces such as drought and fire.

Nowadays, the Water-splashing Festival is the biggest festival for the Dai people. At the same time, the Songkran Festival is also the festival with the greatest influence and the largest number of participants among all ethnic groups in Yunnan. Songkran Festival is also A Dai New Year, which usually lasts for 3 to 7 days. The first day is described as "Mairi" in Dai language, and its meaning is similar to New Year's Eve of the lunar calendar.

The second day is called "angry day" in Dai language, and the third day is New Year, which means "overlord hemp". On the day of Songkran Festival, people will splash pure water on each other, and those who are splashed with water will get good luck and pray for better things to happen in the new year. There will also be dragon boat rowing, elephant foot drums and peacock dance in the Songkran Festival. Everyone will dress up, sing and dance, and the scene is very lively.
