One day, a talented man from the Ming Dynasty and his friend Zhang got together and got very drunk. The two made an interesting couplet with homophones:

It is true that Jia Dao is drunk;

Liu Ling has been drinking.

Jia Dao was a poet in the Tang Dynasty, and Liu Ling was a scholar in the Western Jin Dynasty. Both of them can drink. The homophony of "flip" and "leave zero" gives rise to a funny feeling.

During the Qing Dynasty, Jin Shengtan was sentenced to death, and his son came to visit him. Jin was so happy to see his son that he couldn't wait to ask his son to match him. He walked out of the first part:

Lianzi felt bitter;

The homophone of "Lianzi" is "Kobayakawa Reiko".

When my son cries, he loses his mind to match. Jin cursed: "Cry, you are worthless." His son was puzzled: "You will go to the execution ground tomorrow. What is the use of these?" This homophonic couplet written by Jin Shengtan during his lifetime is sad to read.

In the late Qing Dynasty, there were a pair of old classmates, one from Hebei, surnamed Xue; the other from Jiangnan, surnamed Lou. The latter became successful first, and Xue Nan went to ask him for help. Lou said, I will make a couplet first. Let’s talk about it first. After saying this, he chanted:

When the weather in the south of the Yangtze River gets warm, it is difficult to keep the snow;

"Xue" is a homophony of "Xue", alluding to "Xue". Xue knew what he meant and returned to the north to make a living.

Later Xue succeeded and Lou fell into despair. Lou went to the north to ask Xue for help. Xue said, you used to come out of the first couplet, and I came out:

The north wind cannot hold up the height of the building.

"楼" and "楼" are homophonic, and also mean to repel people thousands of miles away. Lou recalled the past and left in shame.

Two snobbish friends are undesirable, but the pair of homophonic couplets they face are impeccable.
