Father’s vegetable garden

In the afternoon, I came to the vegetable garden in front of my house with nothing to do. The garden is not big, with only two or three thirds of land. The whole garden is in an irregular rectangular shape. All kinds of vegetables in the garden are lush and growing happily. Beans and cucumbers are hung in bunches on the shelves; eggplants and peppers have just poked their little heads; green onions and leeks are shiny; loofah and pumpkin seedlings are growing along the wall; nepeta and green vegetables are green... even the ones next to the vegetable field The walnut trees and pepper trees look so vibrant and green.

Since the three of us, brother and sister, all got married, my father cut down a few big trees in the vegetable field and grew vegetables to supply our family. We can eat different vegetables all year round. Such as spinach, garlic sprouts, coriander, lettuce, lettuce, leeks in spring... zucchini, beans, cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes in summer... pumpkins, chayote in autumn... radish, cabbage in winter... you can find them all. My father worked hard for this garden. Not a drop of pesticides or chemical fertilizers are used in my vegetable garden. What we eat are pure green vegetables that are pollution-free. When there are bugs in the ground, my father always catches them one by one. The ground is not fertile enough, so he gets chicken manure from a place more than ten miles away from home and puts it on the ground. When the vegetables need watering, he pours them on the ground. In his spare time, he pulled up a hundred-meter-long pipe and watered it carefully; in order to prevent children from damaging it, he also spent money to pull a barbed wire fence and circle the vegetable field... "A hard work, a reward." In my eyes, the vegetables he grows are always so juicy and full of life. My vegetable garden is next to the square of our village. When people pass by, they can’t help but give a thumbs up and praise my father for his good vegetable cultivation.

Why does my father’s vegetable plot run so well? One time I asked my wife this question. Her words illustrate the truth - "Isn't it all for the sake of the children?" Yes, the children are the spiritual sustenance of the old man. He does not grow vegetables to sell money or to get praise from others. His purpose of growing vegetables is very pure: so that his children can eat healthy vegetables! Where are the vegetables grown here? This is obviously full of love!

As long as any of the vegetables at home are ripe, we will definitely receive a call from our father asking us to go home and get the vegetables as soon as possible. If we were all working, my father would always divide the food into three portions in his spare time, carry large and small bags and take a ride to the city to deliver food to the three of us. In addition to growing vegetables, he also opened up wasteland to grow cash crops such as sesame, mung beans, peanuts, sweet potatoes, and rapeseed. The oil we eat is squeezed out of his own rapeseed, peanuts, and sesame seeds.

I have written poems praising my father’s vegetable garden many times. Now that I think about it, no matter how many beautiful sentences I have, I can’t describe my father’s silent love!

Notes on the vegetable garden?

The rows of green vegetables are enviable,?

They are so tender that they are proud of the cold wind.

If it weren’t for the hard work of my father,

where would the garden be full of fragrant fruits and vegetables?
