Stage couplets

Living in Beijing, my old friends used to go to see and catch up, and occasionally go to see a Beijing opera.

Nowadays, people usually go to Chang 'an Grand Theatre in Jianguomen or Mei Lanfang Grand Theatre in Chegongzhuang to watch Peking Opera. There are performances in these two venues almost every day. Chang 'an Grand Theatre has a history of more than ten years. Mei Lanfang Grand Theatre and China Peking Opera Theatre are on the same street, about five or six years. In Beijing, it's all new territory. Older venues, such as the People's Theatre and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Auditorium, seem to have no performances in recent years.

The Liyuan Theater in Qianmen is an ancient venue, but it has become a tourist attraction for foreigners to watch Beijing Opera. Martial arts dramas such as "Eighteen Arhats Fighting Wukong" and "Sanchakou" are staged all the year round, and at most they are accompanied by Jiang. I've been with foreigners several times, and I'm tired of it. In the latest theater of the National Centre for the Performing Arts, a new Peking Opera "Red Cliff" was staged two years ago, with a model of an ancient warship several tens of meters high on the stage, which was luxurious and realistic. As a result, only the scenery was not seen, which was ridiculous. The old auspicious theater in Dongdan was demolished when it was in the Oriental Plaza, and the traces of the old theater were wiped clean.

Twenty years ago, I went to Beijing to study, and my classmate's sister worked in the column "Big Stage in the Air" in china national radio, and often got tickets for rehearsal, movie viewing, evaluation and pre-recording. As soon as we have tickets, we will have lunch in a hurry, ride a bike from the west eight room where the school is located, bypass Dongzhimen, cross Gulou Street, and go to the People's Theater in Xinjiekou to see a play. I remember that the hosts were Liu Lu and Song Shixiong. Sometimes, when you meet an important performance, you have to explain it first. Don't clap wildly, drum, and drum with the person in charge. Then I really tried the drum once. The signal is correct, and everything is ready before the performance and recording begin.

In the early 1990s, there were not so many cars in Beijing. After the song, it was already a quiet night, and the ice wheel suddenly surged. Riding through the Shichahai area of the North Sea, the breeze blew, not to mention how beautiful it was.

In recent years, there has been another place to see Peking Opera, which is the theater of Zhengyi School. This theater is located along Xihe street south of Heping Gate. It is said to be the oldest pure wood theater in China. The theater is old, and the ticket price is always being renovated, which is getting more and more expensive. Now the lowest price is 180, and the highest price has reached eighteen thousand. I have been there once, but I haven't been there since. However, what impressed me was the couplets hung on both sides of the stage:

Playing joys and sorrows, there is no previous generation in the contemporary era;

There are always people in the audience.

? I used to think Pu Songling's stage couplets were the most interesting, so I copied them down and enjoyed them. Pu Songling turned to write Strange Tales from a Lonely Studio, which became a household name and spread through the ages. He made two couplets for Boshan stage:

A song, wenwu clothes are asleep;

Three-way drumming, glorious and empty.

The face is never true, and he makes decisions by borrowing witnesses;

Many things are true. Draw lessons from the past, please think about it.

Zhengyi Temple Theater was built by Zhejiang businessmen during Kangxi period in Qing Dynasty, which was used as a place for sacrifice, assembly and banquet, and later for a long time, it was also a place for Ya Bu (Kunqu Opera). 193 1 year, Chen Moxiang wrote an article in Drama Monthly, which mentioned a couplet on the stage of Justice Temple.

? 8 thousand autumn moon spring breeze,

? Try to kill the pipa string in the butterfly dream;

? 500 pairs of golden jars and sandalwood boards,

? Give it to the swallow lamp at the bottom of the peach blossom fan.

This pair of couplets makes people think, shock the soul, and bow their heads to meet the peak of that year. I have seen a replica in Qianmen Liyuan Theater, but I just don't know its origin.

Why is the Justice Temple Theater called "Justice"? According to documents such as "Zhengyi Temple Monument", the name is related to Taoism, and it was originally a Taoist temple dedicated to Guandi in the Ming Dynasty. Zhengyi temple, also known as "Zhengyi successor". During the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty, Zhang Pingchang, the founder of Taoism, was named as "a real person who defends the country and defends the country, indicating that the ancestors' pious worship of Taoism and Hongde ranked second", which is the origin of the name of Zhengyi Temple. However, I haven't seen the message when I changed from "one" to "two". Perhaps, one and b are homophonic, and changing b into one can save some trouble, but this time, the sound is homophonic, and one becomes two.

In the history, most of the "13 unique performers" have performed here. At the end of Guangxu, "Changchun Class" took it as one of the fixed performance places. In the 1930s, famous figures such as Mei Lanfang, Mei Lanfang, Mei Lanfang, Mei Lanfang, Mei Lanfang, Mei Lanfang, Mei Lanfang, and Yan Lanfang all staged here, creating the glorious years of Zhengyi School.

Now, Justice Temple is run by a cultural company named Xinhua Ji Ya, and has become a luxurious performing arts venue. "Xinhua" is also "elegant"; Ji Ya has become a luxury.
