Why do you take your children to do manual labor?

Hand-making nourishes the sense of touch and life, because all the materials involved in hand-making come from natural and living materials, while plastic comes from oil and is lifeless. Therefore, when children make a handmade work with these natural materials, natural materials will bring different tactile sensations, such as the hardness of wood blocks, the softness of wool, the lightness of silk and the roughness of linen fabrics. These are all good tactile sensations, and natural materials will show a warm quality and will be completely absorbed by children.

In kindergarten, the dolls and toys made by teachers for each child have beautiful pictures, which all contain deep feelings and love, and each one is so precious and warm. As parents, with our love and expectation for children, these beautiful feelings are brewing in every doll, and the love passed on to children through it is far more precious than the gifts bought with money, which is worth remembering and collecting.

Before the age of seven, children learn by imitating the adults around them. Due to the development of the online world, children are in a virtual state, thinking that hungry food is on the table and thirsty water is in the cup. However, manual work and teachers' daily work, planting vegetables and flowers, from seed growth to germination, picking vegetables and washing them together to cook, and finally becoming delicious food on the table, are all these.

This is why we love handcraft. It is definitely a matter of warming others, healing and nourishing ourselves. In 2008, I contacted and learned about Waldorf education, and participated in Waldorf space sports training and clay sculpture training in Chengdu.

On July 20 16, he became a clay sculpture teacher, carpenter teacher and physics teacher of Guiyang Forest School. 20 17 went to Sweden to study Waldorf elementary school and junior high school education, and now he is the main class teacher and outdoor teacher of Waldorf forest kindergarten.
