My duckling

Last month, my parents and I went to the dog market. My mother spent 30 yuan to buy me two ducklings.

? Take it home. I named the man Huanhuan and the woman Lele. My mother and I found a plastic basket full of fruits and covered it with newspaper to make a warm and spacious home for the duckling.

I distinguish Huanhuan from Lele mainly by their mouths. Huanhuan's yellow mouth has obvious black lines on it, and Lele's mouth is pure yellow.

? My mother said that having ducklings at home would be particularly smelly, so I should pay attention to hygiene. Change newspapers many times a day. At first, the ducklings used bowls to feed water, but they always jumped into the bowls and splashed water everywhere, making the surroundings very dirty. Mother thought of a good idea. She put a circle of cardboard around the basket, cut a U-shaped mouth on one side of a mineral water bottle, tied both ends of the bottle with a rope and hung it in the duck's basket, which was just high enough for the duck to reach. When the duck wants to eat, put the rice in the mineral water bottle so that the duckling won't get the food dirty.

Huanhuan Lele is also three meals a day. We gave him a lot of food. Dad said that ducks can eat porridge, millet, steamed bread, or put some vegetables properly. So my mother and I went to the supermarket to buy a trip to Xiaomi. Usually, my mother gives me happiness. I always feel that feeding is too monotonous. I was always worried that they would be hungry, but after a few days, I found that they were getting bigger and healthier.

? Last time, mom and dad were very busy, so I took care of the duckling. I prepared a sumptuous meal for them. I put some millet first, and then rub the soft steamed bread that my mother just made into crumbs, put a little, add rice and a little water. This time, I enjoyed my happiness.

Dad says ducks like water. If we keep them in the basket, they will become landlubbers. So my parents and I specially left a big bucket at home. Every two days, we pour half-warm and half-cold water into the bucket, and then put Huanhuanle in it. They are very excited, shaking their mouths to drink water, constantly poking water with their hands and fanning little wings. Now that they have mastered swimming skills well, they can put their whole bodies into the water at once and then float up again.

? I remember when they first came home, they would try their best to hide back. After a month of getting along, they are already familiar with me and will take the initiative to join me when they see me. That afternoon, when my father saw that the weather was fine, he put his joy in a box and took them downstairs to the lawn of the community. Dad turned the box upside down and Joey ran out of it. This may be the first time they have seen such a vast world. They felt a little scared at first, but then they spread their legs and ran like hell. I am also very happy to see them running happily on the lawn.

I think they are much bigger than before, and they feel a little crowded in the box. If you are good at catching them, you will feel that they have three or four more laps. I think Huanhuan Lele may be the happiest and fattest duckling in the same basket in the dog market that day.

Watching two happy ducklings grow bigger and bigger, I have a fantasy. I want them to lay some duck eggs for me. I told my mother that if a duck lays duck eggs, she should take them to the market for sale. Maybe she can sell back the money she bought for duck feeding, haha.
