Confucius said: "It is my greatest wish that the old people in the world can be comforted, friends can trust each other and young people can be cared for."

Regarding "I wish my horses and chariots and my friends * * * no regrets", Qian Mu's New Interpretation of the Analects of Confucius said: "I wish my horses and chariots light and my friends * * * no regrets" and said: "One more light word here is regarded as a horse and chariot. The author believes that there is only one more word "clothes" here. In the fourth chapter of "Forever Night", Gong Xichi (Huazi) wrote, Confucius said: "The red color should be neat, you can ride a fat horse and go into battle lightly. Here, "one" is a verb and "clear autumn" is a noun. Ancient costumes, "clothes on the top, clothes on the bottom" ("Shuo Wen Jie Zi"). Therefore, it is more appropriate to read this sentence as "I wish my friends * * *, I have no regrets". "According to Qian Mu, with reference to the sentence pattern of' riding a fat horse and light clothes', it is not bad to read the last sentence as' riding a fat horse and light clothes, and having no regrets with friends'.

The Book of Rites Ji Fang recorded the words of Confucius: "Zi Yun:' You can take your father's car, but you can't wear his clothes. A gentleman should be lenient and filial. ""It means that you can take my father's like-minded friends in his car, but you can't wear his clothes. By doing so, a gentleman extends filial piety to his father's peers and even spreads it to the whole world. Why? Because even if the father's friend status is equivalent to his own, he can take his car, because the same car, the body is far away, the clothes are close to the skin, so it is not available. This is to treat my father's friends with respect for my father.

Therefore, at that time, we were also particular about horses, chariots and clothes. Friends can use each other's clothes, but they can't wear their elders' clothes.

Confucius has always emphasized modesty, especially citing Mencius' rebellion (The Analects of Confucius forever 6. 15) as an example to educate his students. Zhong You (played by Lutz) is a man with a flamboyant personality who likes to cut down on good deeds, while Yan Hui (played by Zi Yuan) is a modest man.
