Buddha's Sixth Paramita

One Tan paramita, two corpses, three paramita, four pears, five Zen paramita and six Prajna paramita; The six degrees are giving, keeping precepts, enduring humiliation, diligence, meditation and prajna (wisdom). Giving is greedy; Crime of breaking the precepts; Be patient with humiliation; Fine progress is slack; Meditation is scattered; Wisdom is foolish (Jaken). This six degrees can relieve our troubles and all beings, so it is called six paramita.

Six paramita is the behavior of the Bodhisattva. Liuparami is an ancient Indian word, which means to reach the other side; Another meaning is to get things done. Ordinary people float and sink in the sea of life and death. Once they swim to the shore, they will be safe and stable when they land, and they will never float and sink in the sea of life and death again, so they are called crossing to the other side. The Buddha said that all beings are floating in the sea of life and death, and they can't swim to the safe land. It is a metaphor that practitioners have left the cycle of life and death and reached the other side without life and death, which is called paramita. A bodhisattva must practice all kinds of six degrees and ten thousand lines in order to fulfill his wish to become a Buddha. Six degrees is six paramita, which is also called giving, keeping precepts, enduring humiliation, diligence, meditation and wisdom. Giving is greedy. We who study Buddhism should know how to give. Giving is not asking people to give to me, but I have to give to others all the time, not you! You gave! You give to me and I don't give to you, that's not true. Therefore, it is not necessary for others to come to me for alms before I give alms. When I see people in trouble, I should help them. This is called money giving. People are hungry because they don't know Buddhism. We apply Buddhism to them to make them understand Buddhism, which is called dharma practice. Or when someone is frightened and helpless, we can help him and relieve his fear. This is called fearless practice. Therefore, we should know that giving can break greed. We are reluctant to give anything and help others. We only want others to help you. This is greed. If you don't give alms, you can't break greed. The more greedy you are! The more you have to give up, the more greedy you are, and the more you give it up, the more ashamed you are, and the greedy ghost runs away.

observing precepts destroys crimes. observing precepts means observing rules, that is, telling people to behave themselves, doing all kinds of evil and doing all kinds of good. This is similar to giving. Giving is giving to people as much as possible, that is, all good deeds are followed, and keeping precepts requires all evil deeds. If you give, then you will kill, set fire to and rob, which is useless. If you say, I rob the rich to help the poor and rob the rich to help the poor, that is not acceptable. We must refrain from all evils, do not do all evils, pursue all good, stop evil and prevent evil, change all the wrong places, expand the right places as much as possible, and always have mindfulness. This is the general meaning of keeping precepts. Keeping precepts means obeying rules and laws, and don't quarrel with others at home; In the national society, we must also obey the rules; Don't get in the way of other people in the world. This is keeping precepts.

the degree of humiliation is resentment, which is our temper. Temper and resentment belong to fire, and humiliation belongs to water, which is soft and irritable. We lost our temper, and when we had no open fire, we burned the first Zen days beyond endurance, so we have to practice humiliation. When it comes to humiliation, what can be endured is not counted, and what can't be endured is counted if you can endure it; If you can't stand it, you can stand it. That's true practice and humiliation. Learn from Maitreya Bodhisattva. He has a big belly and eats very fat, but he has nothing in his heart. He has nothing in the first place. Where can he cause dust? Therefore, he always smiles and is always happy. He just practices humiliation. We should learn from Maitreya Bodhisattva when practicing humiliation. We didn't mean to show a smile. It was a sly smile, not a real smile. There is a kind of hatred, rape, cunning and bright pretence in my heart; It is most undesirable for those who pretend to be ghosts in the dark and study Buddhism. Be true at all times and on all occasions, and don't wear a mask. This is the true nature of Buddhists. You always wear a mask to deceive people, and you still suffer. Although this is feasible in society, because society is almost like this, deceiving each other, you don't have the truth to tell me, and I don't have the truth to tell you. In Buddhism, we should be frank, one is one, the other is two; Right is right, wrong is wrong, you can't be obviously wrong, but you have to quibble and blame others, which is wrong. Bodhisattva is not happy if you are not honest and sincere. Therefore, we who study Buddhism must show our sincerity and sincerity, and always be honest, honest and true, without any hypocrisy. For example, although I practice humiliation, I also show a happy look, but this is false, not true. I am so angry inside that I can't help it. I even want to kill people, but I still show a very friendly attitude on my face. This is wrong, this is not humiliation, this is cunning and treachery.

I don't mean that I'm practicing, I'm improving, I'm chanting, I'm chanting Buddha, I'm worshipping Buddha, and I often publish newspapers to show how I practice, but that's not the case. Diligence means that you should be diligent in your own body and mind, never be lazy, never deceive yourself, and always be respectful, such as being a teacher to Buddha and heaven. If you don't deceive yourself, it is called diligence. I always remember that I am here to practice Buddhism, not when I am practicing Buddhism, I am worshipping Buddha and scolding when I turn around; Or kill someone with a knife as soon as you turn around. That's not diligence, but you still do some fake things there.

Meditation is scattered. Why do we practice meditation is that we are too scattered, wasting a lot of energy and gasoline. We see with our eyes, hear with our ears, smell with our noses, taste with our tongues, touch with our bodies, and act according to our intentions, all of which spread outward. Your spirit is scattered outward, that is, scattered. What should you do if you are scattered? You have to practice meditation. Meditation is to sit there and calm your mind, just like a bowl of muddy water. If you put it in one place, the dust will sink to the bottom. If you look from above, you will see the end. In this way, it can be seen from above that wisdom and light are present; When it is turbid, it is stupidity, and ignorance is there to disturb you and make you know nothing. Therefore, we practice meditation to grow wisdom. When you have meditation, you will be wise. If you send wisdom, you will get Prajna. If Prajna is wisdom, you will not do stupid things. Why do people always do illegal things? Just because we are too stupid, we don't know what to do properly. If we are not stupid, we are wise. Six degrees is a simple explanation. If you want to elaborate, you can't finish the six-degree method in the future.

When we talk about ten thousand lines, we mean that there are many lines. In fact, there are more than ten thousand lines, and there are so many lines that are boundless. Ten thousand lines are the method of our practice. What we practice is good law, not evil law. There are many good laws, which can't be counted and talked about. In a word, it is all kinds of things, that is, we practitioners,' Don't do small things with good, don't do small things with evil', that is, we should do all kinds of good things and don't do all kinds of evil things, just like keeping precepts, all kinds of evil things should be done and all kinds of good things should be pursued. Since it is all good, you can't say a certain number, and it is not right to say that it is less; Too much talk! I don't know how much, so it's called Wanxing.

the so-called six degrees of ten thousand lines is not to look outside, but to look inside, to do it first from your self, and to work hard from your self. Take giving, for example, we should not be so greedy and insatiable when we look at things with our eyes. If our eyes are not greedy, we will be giving, so we will treat our eyes as thieves. Nose shouldn't be greedy for fragrance or not. You don't steal, but it's easy for your nose to steal, smell good smell, smell perfume without saying hello, and don't tell people:' You smell perfume, shall I smell it?' I just thought it smelled good, so I sniffed it indiscriminately. The thief, Nose, is stealing, not keeping the precepts, and breaking the precepts. Ears like to listen to music, and they are glad to listen to good sounds, and when they listen to good sounds, they are happy; If you don't listen to a good voice, you will feel resentful. If someone scolds you, you will feel resentful. There is no effort to endure humiliation and no thief in your ear. Careful progress is lazy. Don't use your tongue only when you eat. When it comes to teaching, you are lazy and secretive. When you eat diligently, you are also diligent in telling right and wrong. When you talk about serious things, you don't want to talk about it. This is laziness, and diligence is not diligence. If you can be diligent, you can measure the faults of your tongue. The body should always be quiet and should not flow, but you always run here and there, running south and running north. If you really practice meditation, you must take back the scattered body that you have run more. If you have wisdom in your mind, you won't be stupid, and you will be stupid. Therefore, six degrees can also be said to be your six thieves, and your eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body and mind are obedient. Then you don't have delusions anymore, and you don't have any delusions, which means that six degrees are perfect.
