How long does it take to get a passport?

Passports can be processed within 15 days, and can be extended to 30 days under special circumstances. When applying for an ordinary passport, a citizen shall submit a resident identity card, a residence booklet, recent bareheaded photos and relevant materials of the reasons for the application. State functionaries who leave the country to apply for an ordinary passport for reasons specified in Article 5 of this Law shall also submit relevant supporting documents in accordance with relevant state regulations.

The materials required to apply for a passport are:

1, two 2-inch recent bareheaded color photos;

2. ID card (or temporary resident ID card) and household registration book. If it is a collective account, it is necessary to submit a registration form for permanent residents;

3. Students who have no military status in military academies must also submit the certificate of no military status issued by their colleges;

4. 5, must show the opinions of the unit personnel. Where a registered national staff member applies for a passport for personal reasons, the unit shall issue an opinion on the Approval Form for China Citizens Going Abroad for Personal Reasons, and the person in charge shall sign and affix the official seal.

The procedure for applying for a passport is as follows:

1. Bring my ID card or residence booklet to the exit-entry administration department of the local police station and public security bureau to receive the Approval Form for China Citizens Going Abroad for Private Purposes;

2. Fill in the application form and submit it;

3. Submit the application form with my ID card, the original household registration book, the first page of the household registration book, my profile page, change page, a copy of my ID card, the original application form and color photos that meet the requirements;

4. get a passport. It can be collected within 14 working days after being audited by the exit-entry administration department at the county level. Take your ID card or household registration book, passport receipt and 200 yuan production fee with you when you collect it.

The passport processing place should be determined as the case may be:

1. Ordinary citizens must apply for passports in person at the exit and entry hall of the public security bureau where their household registration is located;

Soldiers should apply for passports at the Exit-Entry Administration Office of the Public Security Bureau where they work.

A fee passport 120 yuan/reissue 140 yuan (including filling) and a 20 yuan. Take photos for free, and pick it up at the handling place or express it to 22 yuan. The processing time is 7 working days.

Article 10 of the Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) on Exit and Entry Administration

Citizens of China who travel between the Mainland and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Macao Special Administrative Region, and citizens of China who travel between the Mainland and Taiwan Province Province, shall apply for a permit according to law and abide by the relevant provisions of this Law. Specific management measures shall be formulated by the State Council.

Article 11

When China citizens leave or enter the country, they shall submit their passports or other travel documents and other exit and entry documents to the entry-exit frontier inspection authorities, and shall go through the prescribed procedures before leaving or entering the country.

At qualified ports, the entry-exit frontier inspection organs shall provide special passages and other convenient measures for China citizens to enter and leave the country.
