During the driving test, we all use standard horizontal parking spaces. However, in the daily parking process, we are faced with various complicated road conditions. How to park laterally accurately and safely? Just talk about steps and skills.

Step 1: Determine the parking space size:

No matter what method is used, if you want to park your car in the so-called "parking space", the first thing to do is that the parking space is large enough. If there is a parking space with side parking on the roadside, we suggest that you choose a parking space at least one meter longer than the car to be safe. Of course, if you think you are skilled, it doesn't matter if you are small.

Judging the size of parking spaces mainly depends on feelings. It is difficult for us to give a rigorous method, but it is not completely unskilled. When the line formed by the driver's line of sight and the right front corner of the hood is behind the left rear wheel of the right front vehicle, it is relatively safe.

At the same time, looking back, the exposed area of your right rear window is less than a quarter of the body, which is basically within the safety range. Of course, getting off is also highly recommended.

Step 2: Determine the starting position.

According to the advice in the network, it is safest to start reversing at a distance of about 0.5 meters from the next car/kloc-0. After testing, this distance is really comfortable to operate, but there is often no such parking condition in real life, so is it feasible to shorten the distance? Through many experiments, we can say responsibly that there is no problem at all.

We simulated some narrow roads and parked next to nearby cars. At this point, the door on the right can be opened. After measurement, the distance between the two cars is about 80 cm. If you count the rearview mirror, the distance between the two cars is less than half a meter.

Of course, the closer you are, no problem, but the closer you are, the more accurate it is to turn and reverse.

When reversing, in order to make the front of the car enter the parking space more smoothly, the vehicle should stop at the back of the right car as the starting position. As for the appropriate parking position, you can refer to the right.

The rear wheel is parallel to the rear of the right vehicle, or the B-pillar of the right vehicle keeps the center of the right front window of the vehicle.

Step 3: Fill to the right and return to the warehouse.

When we find the right starting position, we can start reversing. At this point, we will fill the direction to the right. (In order to better protect the steering system, it is recommended to turn back in the opposite direction after filling it up. And try to move the middle wheel slowly again. The wheels of the original car will cause some damage to the vehicle, which should be avoided as much as possible in actual operation. When the front of the car makes a 45-degree angle with the nearby vehicles, turn the direction back to the right. As a driver, it is often difficult to judge whether it reaches 45 degrees from the perspective of the car. Here's a trick. When you observe that the outside of the right rearview mirror is about to coincide with the B-pillar of the side car, you can see the complete rear car from the left rearview mirror. At this time, it is basically in a vehicle state of 45 degrees, and the direction can be reversed.

Step 4: Turn right and reverse the car.

Don't rush back in the right direction. At this time, the rear of the car has not yet entered the parking space, so it is necessary to continue to go straight and reverse. When the left rearview mirror observes that the left rear wheel is in a straight line with the left side of the rear car, or the outside of the right rearview mirror is in a straight line with the left rear taillight of the right front car, the car can stop backing up and drive to the left.

Step 5: Turn left completely.

Then back up slowly. At this time, the vehicle will slowly enter the parking space and the front of the car will gradually turn right. Don't take it lightly at this time, but you still need to constantly observe the surrounding situation to prevent collision with the rear car, and at the same time avoid scratches on the right rear wheel and shoulder. For insurance, you can leave some margin for the tail, and the direction does not need to be deliberately reversed. When there is enough headroom in front of the car, we can move in the right direction. For vehicles without reversing radar and reversing images, moving forward is more reliable than reversing.
