Common defects of black crystal

1. Hide cracks

In the transparent black crystal, the hidden cracks are shiny, flaky and sometimes have halo effect. These cracks are some invisible cracks when the black crystal is squeezed by external force. Hidden cracks are common in hibiscus stone, amethyst, white-black crystal ball and white-black crystal column. Some cracks are later filled with material, forming healed cracks, that is, the original cracks grow back. This kind of crack has relatively little effect on the black crystal.

2. Cotton

Cloudy or slag inclusions and impurities are foggy in transparent black crystals, or feel like inclusions with cotton wool and slag substances. The existence of these inclusions affects the overall beauty of the black crystal. Some black crystals contain black spots or speckled substances of other colors, which are not in harmony with the whole black crystal and are regarded as impurities of the black crystal. Black crystals containing such impurities are defective.

Step 3 crack

After the formation of black crystal, due to external force or some artificial reasons, black crystal produces large cracks or cracks, which have different effects on black crystal.

4. Growth defects

The potholes on the surface of black crystal are deep and shallow, which are naturally formed during the growth of black crystal, and are not artificially destroyed. The defect position originally contained other mineral crystals. Because the bonding force between inclusions and black crystals is not strong, when the surface is polished, the ore body falls off, leaving a vacancy. This defect is common in green ghost, titanium crystal and gold hair crystal.

damage

Damage refers to the man-made damage of black crystal caused by processing or accidental drop collision. It can be a gap, a pit, etc.
