Frigate 07: Born in Rome.

Ten years have passed since the last test drive of BYD, so that during the test drive of 07 frigate, I was in a trance for three times:

The first time I approached the test drive, a critical face came into my eyes. I think this is BYD?

The second time I sat in the driver's seat, a simple and advanced atmosphere came to my face. Once again, I wonder if this is BYD.

The third time I was driving on the highway, staring at the big logo on the steering wheel when I overtook proudly from time to time. Oh, I really drove BYD.

Prior to this, my understanding of BYD was still stuck in the data: in 2022, Tesla was killed, ranking first in the global new energy sales, and "mixed" a brother, self-researched, and it was the most annoying new energy brand in China. As an old media person, I just want to understand why BYD is so hot.

Obviously, the test drive of frigate 07 gave me an important answer.

After being absent for three days, people had to re-examine the scholar.

As can be seen from the name of the frigate, BYD hopes to provide a small middle-class household SUV product that can be environmentally friendly, has no endurance anxiety, is spacious and comfortable, and has high comprehensive quality but low car price. On these points, I had a profound experience during the test drive.

Although the Type 07 frigate was produced by Diga at first glance, it was more refined and recognizable after a large number of marine design elements were upgraded. It is said that "three days is not impressive", and BYD's design level has really risen sharply in recent years.

The iconic elements of the ocean are distributed in all dimensions: the front face is made of high-gloss strips, which naturally run through the slender headlights, such as waves swaying gently, echoing the corrugated front grille lights up and down. Even my face is blind, I can recognize it at a glance when I light it.

The side does not adopt the usual straight design of medium or large SUVs, but increases the rhythm of the side, especially the sharp lower waistline and thick wheels, which highlights its character as an SUV.

There is also a very intimate detail configuration, and its D-pillar is equipped with an energy indicator light, through which you can check the power status when locking the car.

The tail is more stable and atmospheric due to the addition of the big encirclement, and the wave vortex taillight echoes the double-engine through air vortex again.

My affection for the cockpit stems from three aspects.

First, the central control design has its own ideas. A large area of soft cover highlights the layering through different color matching and decorative strips, which is very suitable for color matching seats. The detailed design of rotatable cushion screen, Chinese air conditioning air outlet, conch-shaped door handle and piano paint control panel has obviously improved the exquisite and advanced sense of the cockpit.

Second, the operation is very convenient. Although model 07 frigate is equipped with a brand-new DiLink vehicle-mounted system, and functions such as four-tone wake-up and 20-second continuous dialogue are added, it still retains the physical buttons for high-frequency use such as driving mode switching, air conditioning air volume adjustment, volume adjustment and parking. You can choose whether to use car buttons or physical buttons according to your own habits, which will not confuse people.

Third, the space comfort is extremely high. The wheelbase of Type 07 frigate is 2820mm, which is fully qualified to be called "Big Five", so there is no need to worry about the space performance. The seat is extremely comfortable. The headrest of the front seat is thickened, which increases the wrapping of wings and the support for shoulders. Equipped with ten-way electric adjustment, heating, ventilation and driver's seat memory. The back seat is thick and the PP is soft, but the lumbar support is in place (supporting backrest adjustment), and with the advantage of flat floor, three adults with standard weight in the back seat have no pressure.

The trunk of the "Big Five" has a natural advantage, with a standard volume of 6 15L, which is more than three times that of the seven Highlanders. After the second discharge, the trunk volume can be expanded to an astonishing 1865L, while the maximum expandable volume of Highlander is only 1200L.

There is one detail that needs to be explained. The frigate 07 trunk can't be flat, because the product research and development team is unwilling to sacrifice ride comfort for the low-frequency trunk to be flat.

The test drive experience surprised me.

If the static experience surprised me, then the dynamic performance of frigate 07 surprised me.

In terms of power system, Type 07 two-wheel drive frigate is equipped with an electric motor (maximum horsepower 197 horsepower and maximum torque of 3 16 Nm), matched with a 1.5T Xiaoyun engine, with maximum horsepower 139 horsepower and maximum torque of 23/kloc-0. It is worth mentioning that, as a plug-in hybrid model, the maximum battery life of frigate 07 is 205km (two-wheel drive DM-i is equipped with high and top gear), and the battery life of four-wheel drive DM-p is also 175km. Of course, the 205km version is more popular, and it can be used as a tram every day, saving money and protecting the environment. Pure battery life is related to blade battery. In addition to ensuring the safety of batteries, special packaging technology can also accommodate more batteries. A battery with the same volume has a larger capacity and a longer pure electric life.

Many people say that they don't want to drive a fuel car after driving an electric car. I have a deep understanding of frigate 07. BYD's EHS electric hybrid system is mainly driven by electricity, so this car has all the characteristics of pure electric vehicles: extremely quiet at the start and extremely quiet when driving, coupled with the characteristics of motor output, the vehicle speed-up response is very fast, with flexible straight-line steering, overtaking is really cool.

If you want direct power, you can switch to HEV mode. At this time, the motor and the engine drive the wheels together, and the power is naturally stronger. But from my own experience, EV mode is the most ideal state, with proper power and no oil.

If you have higher requirements for power, the four-wheel drive DM-p model is undoubtedly a better choice. Its dual-motor power reaches 40 1 horsepower and the maximum torque reaches 656 nm. It is equivalent to driving a medium-sized SUV with a 3.5T engine, and how strong the power is can be made up immediately.

By the way, in the BYD family, the DM-p model that emphasizes performance belongs to the top stream, and the price is more expensive than its own pure electric vehicle model. The reason why DM-i is more popular, besides power, is that it really saves fuel. Take frigate 07 as an example. Under the WLTC standard which is closer to the real vehicle scene, its comprehensive fuel consumption per 100 kilometers is 2. 1L, and the fuel consumption per 100 kilometers is only 5.3L, while the fuel consumption I ran out that day was 5.4L, and the air conditioner was on (because Sanya was very hot), and there were four adults in the car.

The chassis performance of frigate 07 has been collectively stamped. The multi-link suspension structure before McPherson is the foundation, but the adjustment is the soul. Although it belongs to the chassis style of comfortable home, it is not as soft as some new power products, and the whole system comes standard with FSD frequency adjustable damping shock absorber, which can automatically adjust the damping according to different road conditions, giving me a high level of comfort.

What is a good car? The most direct feeling is that after driving for three or four hours, I don't feel tired at all, and I can continue to maintain a pleasant driving state. This is the state when I flew the frigate 07. When I came back, I was even a little lost-I occasionally took a look at the sparkling sea outside the window, the sparkling sea sunshine was dancing, and free people were wasting a lot of time. At this moment, let "Xiao Di" send a song "Time is up" and listen to the warm music flowing from Dana's stereo. Well, the time is right and happiness is right.

Borrowing frigate 07, the author finally wants to talk about BYD. As we all know, even the electric car websites in the United States should refrain from boasting a few words from time to time. However, in addition to taking the lead and adhering to new energy sources, I personally think that at least two aspects are worth learning from:

First, by mastering the core technology to resolve the cost pressure and gain the right to speak on pricing. Why can DM-i kill Japanese hybrids with a long history and become "hybrid" brothers? The technology of four iterations is of course important, but the most important thing is to lay the price of electric hybrid. Buying Japanese hybrid is the price of tens of thousands, while Songjia DM-i directly hits the price of15-200,000. The Qinjia DM-i launched this year100000 is even more "ransacked". Don't say that many people are stupid with money. In fact,10-200,000 is the interval with the strongest purchasing power. When the war breaks out, you should stabilize your granary. BYD won a beautiful game of chess.

Second, gradually precipitate the circle label and build a clear product layout. The barbaric era of "having more children and fighting" is over. With the rise of circle economy, the premise of providing rich choices is that products must be labeled. BYD promotes the Ocean Net series, whether it is a battleship series equipped with DM-i super hybrid power or a marine life series from BYD e platform 3.0, both lineages have the characteristics of "new design, new technology and new intelligence", and the core of these items is youthfulness.

Take frigate 07 as an example. Although the design is not beautiful, the intelligent system is not top-notch, and the configuration doesn't sound as cool as some new forces, it has its own distinctive features in terms of enhanced design, endurance performance (such as 205km version), driving texture, space comfort, and configuration that meets the preferences of young people (such as the frigate 07 equipped with iphone NFC numeric keys for the first time), and it also meets all the needs of family users in this regard. This world is really wonderful. Everyone else wants to go to Rome, but some people were born in Rome.

Everyone knows that car companies are having a hard time this year. The ideal sales volume of 8.5 million new energy sources smells delicious, but the competition of the jungle will further widen the gap between the rich and the poor.
