I have read Zhu Donghui's trilogy of the Great River (cracking this shore and the other shore)

Adapted from the novel Cracking the Shore by the Northeast writer Zhu Donghui. This book describes the extraordinary life course of a soldier in Northeast China, and the vicissitudes of life on both sides of the Liaohe River from the beginning of this century to the founding of the People's Republic of China. Feng Deshuang accidentally stepped into Fengtian because of fellow countryman Zhang Xueliang and began his life journey of joining the army. From Zhang Xueliang's officer, he became the commander of the volunteer army until he became a senior general of our army. The reproduction of this process in the book is extremely vivid and touching, with not only tortuous stories and gripping plots, but also profound Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism and Marxist dialectics, involving many important historical figures. The book also created many unique characters such as Zhang Xueliang and Guo Songling. This book is one of the few masterpieces of Dan Tianfang's modern stories. With vivid characters, tortuous stories and grand scenes, it is a good book on patriotism.
