As the first and second phase project of Line 5, which runs through the north-south backbone line of Chengdu, it starts from Xindu District in the north and reaches Tianfu New District in the south, passing through several administrative districts in Chengdu, especially central cities such as jinniu district and Qingyang District, and crossing Jinjiang, Ring Expressway, Airport Expressway, High-speed Railway and existing operating subway lines for many times. It is an important route to optimize the urban spatial structure, which will greatly alleviate the passenger flow pressure of subway 1 line.

In order to ensure that the key nodes of the whole tunnel are fulfilled as scheduled, a total of 37 shields were put into operation on Line 5, which is second only to Line 6. The shield construction was carefully organized, and two firsts in China were successfully completed: the first crossing of the railway throat recheck intersection and the first crossing of the central substation of the State Grid, achieving "zero settlement".

When was it opened? It is expected to be at the end of 20 19. After the tunnel is completed, the next important stage is rail transit. At present, 39 stations in Line 5 4 1 have been capped, and it is expected that all of them will be capped this year, with 50% of track laying completed and about 1/3 stations reconstructed. In order to ensure that the key nodes of the whole tunnel can be fulfilled as scheduled, 37 shield machines have been put into operation on Line 5, which is one of the lines with the largest number of shield machines in Chengdu rail transit construction (second only to Line 6). Second, the shield construction of Line 5 and Line 6 should be considered as a whole. In order to make the construction more efficient and orderly, the equipment and personnel of the two lines are considered as a whole, especially the management personnel of shield construction. Line 5 is over-matched, and the core technical force is reserved for Line 6. Third, there are many serious risk sources in the central city. Line 5 crosses the central city, and will cross many serious risk sources such as railways, rivers, buildings and existing subway lines. Fourth, the construction of the first ring road station is difficult, and the conditions of shield launching and passing the station are bad. There are 6 stations along the west section of the first ring road of Line 5, which is characterized by heavy traffic pressure, narrow construction site, extremely complicated underground pipelines, great difficulty in implementation, and great pressure on shield launching and passing through targets. Fifth, there are many existing subway lines, and it is difficult to control and implement them. In order to ensure the normal operation of Metro Line 3, the construction of Line 5 under Line 3 was completed ahead of schedule. China Medical University Hospital Station is a 3-line interchange station, which involves a large number of existing line construction operations, and it is very difficult to control and implement. Sixth, there are many external factors, which optimize the key nodes of the project.
