Image design

Ultraman's image was designed by the late Japanese artist and sculptor Narita Hiroshi (1929-2002). At the same time, he is also the designer of classic monster images such as Baltan, Gomora, King Red, and Zeton.

Narita Hiroshi's philosophy on Ultraman's mouth shape is that "a real strong man should wear a smile during battle."

In the design of the body, in order to give Ultraman a sense of life, Narita Toru painted red stripes symbolizing life and vitality along Ultraman's muscles.
