There is no standard for wine tasting, it is entirely personal experience.

1, order wine first.

2. Open the bottle

4. Wine tasting

The first step is to look at the wine body, which is clear and free of suspended matter, otherwise it may be the dregs of cork or other sundries. However, precipitation is not necessarily a bad thing. It may be tartaric acid precipitation precipitated by different brewing processes. Of course, it is ok to ask for a change of wine.

The second step is color. The color of red wine is very subtle, usually ruby red, maybe a little blue or purple. Pomegranate red and crimson are normal, but brownish red is unacceptable. This is an over-oxidized color. This bottle of red wine is gone. The same is true if white wine is brownish yellow.

The third step is to smell the aroma, and the combination of wine and aroma is very different. Here, I suggest you focus on your personal feelings and ignore those complicated professional descriptions. But there is a certain bottom line, and the aroma of jam or rotten fruit is unacceptable, which is also a manifestation of excessive oxidation. In addition, if you find the smell of wet rags or paper, then the wine is contaminated by cork. Please don't accept such wine.

The fourth step is wine tasting. After the above inspection, you can basically taste a bottle of normal wine that you can drink. However, if you find that white wine tastes strong and stale, and red wine tastes like vinegar, you should not hesitate to return this bottle of over-oxidized wine.

5. sober up

If you are satisfied with the wine after tasting, you can pour it into glassware to sober up. When wine leaves the original packaging environment, subtle changes will take place and the taste will be improved.
