A short essay praising green plants

My lovely green plants

Because I don't like to see flowers bloom and fall, I only raise green plants.

I have a pot of reeds in Phnom Penh. Pale green leaves, thin and long. The yellow border is so delicate. I like their messy, freely spreading leaves. A pile of leaves like that is like the fluffy skirts of European women in the 1930s. This woman has an innocent heart. Probably just those leaves are not enough to satisfy its curiosity. It greedily stretches out one long vine after another and sends its carefully cultivated offspring as far away as possible. It can not only deliver nutrition to children, but also feel the latest information faster. The descendants of Phragmites australis in Phnom Penh look like it, but much smaller. However, regardless of size, they all have fully developed roots. It seems to be their most sacred mission that they can settle down anytime and anywhere, take root and sprout, and strive to grow up for the sake of family reproduction.

I have two pots of Euonymus hupensis. There are some irregular yellow stripes on dark green leaves. Its leaves are straight, just like the swords of the king of Chu, and I respect their integrity. It only needs a little water, but it can fully show its rock-breaking momentum.

I have a pot of small leaves and made a fortune. Every leaf of it stretches happily like a pair of little hands. When the wind blows, it will sway and dance. Brought me a lot of joy.

I still have a pot of apocynum venetum. The enthusiasm of its life makes me sigh. It seems to be racing against time. I can see it grow new green leaves every day. At first, those green leaves were only as big as tea tips. Slowly, it will inadvertently grow into a finger-long, sharp, green and fragrant leaf.

These lovely plants seem to have brains, feelings and gratitude.

In summer, I moved them to the balcony. Let them fully feel the touch of sunshine and wind. They are very happy. Jumping and jumping, stretching your branches and leaves to the fullest.

It was cold, so I moved them into the room again. I found bamboo poles, put them on the shelf, and straightened and fixed their tall branches. I found some foam boards and raised them. So that they can see as much light as possible.

The big tree is near the window. Very proud. Hold your chest out and spread your arms comfortably. As if to say: Look! How much my master loves me. Apocynum venetum is at the other end of the sofa, far from the window. It's not angry at all. Its tolerant little head is slightly bent. The branches near the window grow slowly on purpose. They don't want to block the light from the branches behind them. The branch at the back bowed its head humbly, as if thanking the brothers and sisters in front. What a United, friendly and harmonious life!

I often stare at their lovely appearance in a daze. We humans claim to be the spirit of all things, but not all of us are honest, active and dedicated. Shouldn't we learn from them? ! (Excerpted from Sina Weibo Xianyun Yehe)
