Some people say that Shenyang is Taiji Bagua City. What happened?

Tai Chi gives birth to two instruments, two instruments give birth to four images, and four images give birth to gossip.

Tai Chi refers to the central hall behind the Daxiong Hall of the Forbidden City in Shenyang, which is located in the center of Shenyang and balanced on all sides.

The two instruments refer to the bell tower in the northeast of the central hall and the drum tower in the northwest. The former sites are located at the intersection of Zhongjie Street, Chaoyang Street and Zhengyang Street in the city. On the second floor, there are two kinds of musical instruments on both sides of the central hall.

The Four Elephants refer to the four pagodas outside Shenyang, which are located in the east, west, north and south of the city, and are equidistant from the central temples in the city. These four pagodas are all Tibetan pagodas with temples. The four pagodas guard the four sides of Shenyang City for the four elephants.

Bagua refers to the eight gates of Shenyang City, which is a square city with two gates on each side of the city wall. These eight gates are the eight exits of Jingzi Street in the city. Eight doors are evenly distributed, just like the layout of gossip in the Book of Changes.

This is the general layout of Shenyang City "from center to periphery, from simplicity to complexity" in order to make the city permanent according to the Book of Changes theory when Emperor Taizong of Qing Dynasty established Shenyang City in the early years of Qing Dynasty.

Now, the second floor of the Bell and Drum Tower and the Eight Gates have disappeared, and the reconstructed Dadongmen and Daximen have no historical charm. The central temple and the four pagodas are still there, and the West Pagoda has been restored in recent years, so it can be used to visit the ancient times.
