Yang Jiang talks about siege

I will not go into details about the content of the siege, but let’s talk about the appendix of the book, written by Mr. Yang Jiang.

After reading Mr. Yang Jiang’s talk about the siege, I had a deeper feeling about the siege. I also have a deep understanding of writing.

The following is excerpted from Yang Jiang's "Qian Zhongshu and the Besieged City":

The characters and stories created by the author are inseparable from his personal experience, thoughts and feelings. This is of course true. But I once pointed out in an article: An important component of creation is imagination. Experience is like a fire lit in the darkness, and imagination is the light emitted by this fire. Without fire, there is no light, but the reach of light is far beyond The size of a fire spot. The stories created often transcend the author's own experience in many ways. Retrieving the author's experience from the story of creation is upside down. The author's thoughts and feelings are created, just like fermented and turned into wine; it is not easy to identify the raw materials for making wine from the wine. I have the opportunity to know the author's experience and the raw materials of the wine. I would like to let readers see how much and what kind of connection there is between real people and fictional characters and plots. Because many so-called realistic novels are actually narrating one's own experiences in a different way to enhance or satisfy one's own feelings. This kind of autobiographical novel or novel-style autobiography is actually a romantic documentary, not a realistic fiction. And "Fortress Besieged" is just a fictional novel, although it reads as if it is real and there are real people.

The author of "Fortress Besieged" is Zhong Shu, who is very "infatuated". When we get along every day, he often likes to say silly things, and then add creation, association, and exaggeration. I can often appreciate the writing style of "Fortress Besieged" from it. I feel that the characters and plots in "Fortress Besieged" are all made real by his madness. But after all, he is not an idiot who knows nothing about the world, nor is he indifferent to social phenomena. Therefore, although every detail in the novel makes people laugh, the atmosphere of the whole book, as said at the end of the novel: "Contains the irony and sentimentality of life, and is deeply In all words, in all laughter", it is soul-stirring.
