The design of GWP team applies the concept of "infinite flow", skillfully matches parking, moving lines of people and vehicles and commercial layout, and perfectly integrates functions with beautiful architectural forms, which will become the parking benchmark building in Dongguan in the future. -Professor-level senior engineer and chairman of Dongshi Group, Dr. Liu Bo.
1. Project background: CBD pilot project.
With a planned area of 4,844 square meters and a total construction area of 20,575 square meters, Dongguan Parking Building Base is the first pilot parking building project to update Dongguan's image and ease the urban traffic pressure.
The project is located at the junction of Shizhu Road and Tiyu Road in Guancheng District, and belongs to the key core city of Dongguan.
The base is surrounded by green landscape, about 200 meters away from Dongguan Municipal Government. It is an important place to show Dongguan's urban culture, gathering the functions of the municipal government such as administration, office, commerce and hotels.

For a long time, there are many traffic hidden dangers in this area, such as insufficient parking spaces and parking occupied by ground roads. Based on the actual functional requirements of the project, the GWP team combined the innovative design concept with the overall image of the new urban landmark, trying to solve the parking congestion problem in this area, build a convenient and comfortable traffic experience for urban commuters, and create a new urban place where people can park.

2. Design concept: infinite flow.

Conceptual plan
The concept inspiration of this case combines the unique winding water vein of Dongguan water town and the core position of "one heart and two axes" where the project is located, and proposes to merge two extended urban main roads into a flowing strip to reorganize, sort out, reverse and construct the sense of space and skin language of the parking building. Organize the vehicle movement route with the trend of infinite flow and rotation; In this way, the two dynamic curves spiral up and meet, forming the overall architectural image of the parking building as a city sculpture.
The design of this project takes the unique traffic line of the parking building as the traction force, and generates mass through the continuous circulation of the building. Finally, the geometric shape of the site is optimized and deformed to obtain a pure and concise architectural form.
The continuous circular facade "ribbon" surrounds and runs through every corner of the building, giving birth to a series of rich and diverse empty forms, and visually creating an architectural language that integrates with the surrounding urban environment from the inside out-enjoying tranquility while respecting and enhancing the value of the surrounding environment.

"We hope to bring some vibrant designs to Dongguan. This building is like a hollow sculpture in this city, giving people here an empty pleasure and increasing their sense of belonging to this city "-Zhang Guowei John Zhang (chief architect of GWP).
3. Facade design: dynamic curve and poetic expression.

In the facade design, the team continued the agility of flowing water and used dynamic and light linear language. Through the continuous white ribbon, local rotation cycle, winding up and down, layer by layer, forming a flowing and changing facade beauty.
In the choice of facade materials, GRC shows the unique texture of flow curve, and then blends with the vast land.
Rising eastward, the parking building will show the femininity of the building under the change of light and shadow, creating a unique poetry; At the starting point of Deng Hua, with the night lights lit by fluttering ribbons, the fa? ade will show the changing effect of winding up and down, becoming a beautiful urban sculpture landscape on people's way home.
4. Efficient structure and independent streamline
Analysis diagram
In the southwest section of the building, the design team adopted an expressive and space-saving spiral ramp structure to guide vehicles from the first floor to the sixth floor efficiently and quickly, which greatly improved the parking efficiency. At the same time, the spiral ramp is seamlessly connected with the facade, achieving a high degree of unity and continuity of the architectural appearance.
The building adopts inclined plate parking structure, with inclined spiral driveway as the core, surrounding and running through all internal vacancies. The driveway is mainly used for getting on and off vehicles, and there are parking areas on both sides of the driveway. According to the data calculation, the utilization rate of inclined parking structure is 30% higher than that of plane parking structure, which can increase the effective parking space by 25%, thus solving the parking congestion problem in the central city around this case more skillfully and efficiently.
The plane moving line design adopts the separation of people and vehicles, and each vehicle type is equipped with an independent streamline system, which is mainly divided into commercial vehicle streamline, social vehicle streamline and minibus streamline to ensure flexible response to emergencies in the parking lot.
At the same time, there is an atrium that can be penetrated by natural light inside the infinite circulation streamline, which greatly enriches the visual experience of people after parking and promotes the air circulation inside the parking building. The automobile exhaust generated by vehicle driving is led out through the atrium space of natural breathing, and the surrounding oxygen is supplemented through the gap surrounded by ribbons on the facade, forming a virtuous cycle of air.

Although the parking project is small in scale, it tests the designer's ability to solve complex and comprehensive problems. Under the extremely limited site conditions, it is necessary to solve the comprehensive problems such as moving line organization, parking number, architectural image and commercial function requirements through creative design ideas. Although the scale is small, it tests the designer's ability to solve complex and comprehensive problems. The GWP team provided a unique solution to balance these difficulties. We look forward to the completion of the project. —— Mei Youyao, planning and management manager of Dongshi Group, registered urban planner.
5. Public * * * business vacancies
After discussing and demonstrating the function of the project with the owner for many times, the design team turned the first two floors, the first floor and the roof into commercial vacant rooms, creating a place for people to stay and experience the interaction between the building and the city in the process of going back and forth to the parking building.
Among them, the first two floors and the negative first floor are centralized commercial areas, and the layout of vacant rooms can be flexibly divided or formed as a whole to accommodate large-scale formats.
The design team also set up a pedestrian elevated corridor on the first floor, connecting the central square and the city park on the south side. Open space makes it an interesting node in the urban slow traffic system.
The roof is planned as a characteristic commercial vacant house, which becomes the fifth facade with great attraction and creative thinking, and forms a continuous visual experience and echo with the surrounding landscape.
Breaking the traditional cognition that the parking building is empty, the parking building not only meets the demand of temporary storage containers for vehicles functionally, but also creates new urban community space and interpersonal relationships.
