Xinyang Memory (Ⅱ) —— Qinglong Street

In the first phase, out of respect for history, we shared Cang Hutong, the oldest street in Xinyang. This issue talks about Qinglong Street. One of the reasons for talking about Qinglong Street is that my family lives in Yangshan New District and Qinglong Street is at home. Second, Qinglong Street is undergoing shantytown renovation and will be demolished soon. Otherwise, there is no chance. Of course, the transformation of shanty towns is a sign of social progress, and prosperity is of course a good thing, but don't forget history, as Lenin said: forgetting the past means betrayal. Leave a microcosm of the history of Qinglong Street and leave this beautiful memory for Xinyang people.

Qinglong Street is herringbone, with a total length of 4 10 meter and two herringbone openings. How did Qinglong Street come from? There are several versions of this legend. One legend is that a dragon lands in this place every day, and the landing place is called Qinglong Street. The faucet is in the original Qinglong Street Primary School, which is now the eleventh primary school. Wei Long of Qinglong is in Daimiao Primary School. Why is Daimiao Primary School in Wei Long? Because there is a tall and big tree in the original campus of Daimiao Primary School, which is said to be the dragon tail of Qinglong. Why is eleven a leader? Because there are two big ancient wells on both sides of the eleventh small, which are the eyes of Qinglong, the leading position is named Qinglong Street. The dragon fell to the earth because he accidentally hurt his eyes and became a cyclops. He couldn't stand the pain and fell to the ground. How to prove that this dragon is a cyclops! There used to be two ancient wells next to the eleventh primary school. The water in one well is always clear, while the other is always turbid. This means that Qinglong is blind in one eye and is a cyclops. Of course, scientifically speaking, muddy water is only a geological natural phenomenon, which has nothing to do with dzi. This is a version of the name of Qinglong Street.

There is also a saying that in ancient times, there were gods in charge of four directions in the sky, namely, Qinglong, Baihu, Suzaku and Xuanwu, representing four directions of east, west, north and south respectively. This dragon in charge of the East is called Meng Zhang. As for its image, there are seven clouds in "Jiao Tong's Must-Use Collection": "Oriental Dragon Horn, full of energy, spits clouds and glows, cries thunder, flies octupole and swims four ghosts, standing on my left." At that time, an old man named Chen Shi 'an lived in this street. He named this street after the God of the East because it was in the east of Xinyang ancient city at that time.

According to the third legend, Huang Guanghe, an old resident of Qinglong Street, a long time ago, Qinglong in the sky was negligent in his duties, regardless of human events. It doesn't rain when seedlings are planted on the ground, and it doesn't blow when flowers bloom, so Xinyang people are miserable and have been like this for several years. Later, the jade emperor knew about it, and he was very angry. He banished Qinglong to the Longfei Mountain in Xinyang, which is now Yangshan Mountain. This green dragon is at least several kilometers long. This big dragon is lying on the ground. Because there is no water, it can't stand it for a long time and will dry up and die.

Looking at the poor and white life, Xinyang people no longer care about Qinglong's fault, because there is water shortage everywhere, the ponds are dry and there is no water in the wells. The only place where there is water in Xinyang is Longquan in Longquan Lane (as for the location and legend of Longquan Lane in Xinyang, I will leave a button in this issue). Xinyang people all ran to Longquan lane to get water, and the water was green dragon. Thousands of people in the whole city acted together to try their best to maintain the life of Qinglong in the case of difficulty in drinking water at home. Some people go to the Jade Emperor every day (as for the location of the Jade Emperor Temple in Xinyang, it will be explained later, and another button will be left), begging the Jade Emperor to forgive this dragon. The Jade Emperor was very moved when he learned about this incident, and was moved by Xinyang people's behavior of letting bygones be bygones and rescuing each other. At the same time, I feel that I can't bother Xinyang people any more. If the dragon can't get it, Xinyang people have to carry water to feed the dragon. The Jade Emperor couldn't bear to recall Qinglong.

However, it is difficult to recall Qinglong, because Qinglong is so big, it is short of water for a long time and dying. A guy as big as Qinglong can hardly take off without relying on his own strength. Xinyang people use the method of spiritual victory to boost the spirit of Qinglong and take off by Qinglong's own strength. Tens of thousands of people in Xinyang city surrounded Qinglong, beating gongs and drums, firing guns and shouting, and the mountains rang like one. The crowd shouted "take off, take off". In this cry, Qinglong's spirit did it one brace up and made every effort to finally take off. When Qinglong took off, it used too much force, and its claws scratched deeply, leaving a deep gully in the ground. Later, people named the location of Qinglong faucet as Longfei Mountain; The body of Qinglong, named Qinglong Street; When Qinglong took off, the ravine caught by the dragon claw was qinglong river, and now it flows through Xinyang city.

I prefer the third version of the legend of Qinglong Street, because this legend and this story have a human touch. It is a true portrayal of Xinyang people's simplicity, diligence and courage. During the Great Revolution, many Xinyang people in the old liberated areas gave their lives for the revolution, with no regrets. Isn't this Dabie Mountain spirit with a global mind another portrayal of the legend of Qinglong Street?

Although Qinglong Street will be demolished, Xinyang people's simple, hardworking and brave spirit displayed by Qinglong Street will live forever with her beautiful legend!
