I took the postgraduate entrance examination in 2010, majoring in English and American Literature at Fudan, with a total score of 379. When I was preparing to take the entrance examination to study abroad, I spent a lot of time reading two modern prose translations by Zhang Peiji. I personally felt that I benefited a lot. Some of the expressions in them can be used in translation and writing. So these two books are highly recommended. This year’s essay topic is about Obama and racial discrimination, so it’s relatively easy to write. I personally feel pretty good after taking the Basic English exam, but my results are not ideal.

My second foreign language test was French. The French test paper of Fudan Second Foreign Language School is relatively easy, while the German and Japanese test papers are difficult. The French exams are all relatively basic, with multiple choice questions, one French translation, one translation, and this year there is also a reading comprehension section, with some words I don’t know. There were 13 people who took the re-examination at Fudan this year, and their admission score was 351. In the end, 3 people failed. 1 in Literature and 2 in Linguistics. It is a ranking of all directions put together. Because the retest accounts for 50%, it is still very critical. I was the first one to go in, and I was very nervous. There were four teachers below me. First, I selected an article, read it, and then asked you a few questions about this article. The next questions are very broad and casual, including where you are from, who are the authors you are interested in and which works you have read. Each of us met for about 10 minutes.
