Talk about the history of Cangzhou City, Hebei Province

Cangzhou is named after its proximity to the Bohai Sea.

Some parts of Cangzhou belonged to Youzhou and Yanzhou in ancient times, Qingzhou in the Western Zhou Dynasty, Yan, Qi, Jin and Zhao in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, Julu County and Luobei County in the Qin Dynasty, Jizhou and Youzhou in the Han Dynasty, Wei State in the Three Kingdoms, Yingzhou and Jizhou in the Northern Wei Dynasty in the Southern and Northern Dynasties, and Cangzhou was established in the second year of Emperor Xi Ping of the Northern Wei Dynasty (AD 517). In the first year of Zhenguan in the Tang Dynasty (AD 627), it belonged to Hebei Road, Hebei East Road Hejian House in the Song Dynasty, Hejian Road in Zhongshu Province in the Yuan Dynasty, Hejian House in North Zhili Province in the Ming Dynasty, Hejian House in Zhili Province in the Qing Dynasty, and some counties belonged to Tianjin House. At the beginning of the Republic of China, it belonged to Bohai Road and Jinhai Road in Zhili Province. In 1928, it was abolished and changed to Hebei Province.

during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, it was under the jurisdiction of the administrative offices of Jizhong and Jinnan in Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei Border Region and Bohai District in Shandong Province. On August 1, 1949, the people of Hebei Province was established.

Cangxian District was set up, which was located in Cangxian Town and governed 11 counties.

in June, 1958, after Tianjin became part of Hebei province, Cangxian District merged with Tianjin District, called Tianjin District, which was based in Tianjin. In September of the same year, Cangxian Town was changed to Cangzhou City (county level), and then it was cancelled and merged into Cangxian County.

In early 1959, Tianjin was withdrawn and merged into Tianjin.

On June 1st, 1961, the Cangzhou Special Zone was restored, and Cangzhou City (county-level) was restored, with a special agency in Cangzhou City.

in December 1967, Cangzhou area was renamed as Cangzhou area.

in December, 1983, Cangzhou was changed to a municipality directly under the central government of Hebei province, and the administrative office and the municipality were located in Cangzhou.
