Corporal punishment of students is prohibited.

The Regulations on Educational Punishment in Primary and Secondary Schools defines the scope of educational punishment: if a student has one of the following circumstances, the school and its teachers should stop it and criticize and educate it. When necessary, educational punishment may be imposed:

(3) Smoking, drinking or misconduct that violates the student code;

(4) committing dangerous acts that endanger the physical and mental health of oneself or others;

(5) Beating and scolding classmates and teachers, bullying classmates or infringing upon the legitimate rights and interests of others;

⑥ Other acts in violation of school rules and regulations.

In classroom teaching and daily management, teachers can impose the following educational penalties on students who slightly violate the rules and regulations:

(1) criticize by name;

(2) ordered to apologize, oral or written review;

③ Appropriate increase of teaching or class public welfare tasks;

(4) Standing in the classroom during class;

⑤ After-class teaching;

⑥ Other appropriate measures stipulated by school rules and regulations or class rules.

Teachers can notify parents of students in an appropriate way after implementing these disciplinary measures.
