Architectural characteristics of Confucian temple

Yingmen Ancient Sophora japonica, with a diameter of 1 m, was planted in Hongwu period of Ming Dynasty. Enter the main entrance and walk along Yong Road for about150m. In front of Dacheng Hall, four ancient pine trees more than 20 meters high stand on the path and go straight into the sky. In front of Dongguan, the north and south are separated by 10 meter, and there is a lush ancient locust tree, which is like a dragon. The whole courtyard looks antique and solemn.

The well-preserved Dacheng Hall is a Yunnan-style Ming Dynasty building. Width 1 1m, length 20.8m, height 9.88m ... There are 12 red paint enclosures inside and outside respectively. The archways are stacked and the eaves are inserted into the sky. The roof of the hall is paved with glazed tiles with red, yellow and green colors, forming a large diamond pattern in the middle. There are five golden dragon playing beads on the main ridge, with a kiss tilted at both ends and a vertical ridge. At the near end of the ridge, there is a leaping fish and a crouching beast, which are arranged alternately. There are five halls, on both sides of Yong Road, seven in the east and seven in the west. Twenty paces northeast of the main hall, there are three sacred temples. Exquisite design and fine combination. What's even more amazing is that the whole Dacheng Hall, including the roof and 12 supporting columns, is made of wood. If all large buildings are riveted with wooden wedges, it is useless to use a nail. In ancient times, Confucius was regarded as the "Great Sage", so this temple was called "Dacheng Hall", which was the main place to worship Confucius.
