We go back to 1992. Zepu, a young cartoonist, created a lot of sketches and stories, but none of them were favored by publishers. Now, Zep, shrouded in a halo by virtue of the famous Didev series, talks about the origin of Didev's "adventure" and recalls: "One day, I decided to buy myself a big picture book and draw all my childhood memories ... Just when I was about to tell myself with a brush, I thought of the protagonist in another story I was thinking about-a lock of hair on my head. After being rejected by several newspapers, this imaginative new series was finally accepted by a kind publisher and gradually became one of the most famous French cartoons of that era. Following the unprecedented success of Didev's album series, the TV series of the same name was put on the screen in 2002. Subsequently, Zep tried to adapt his work into a screenplay, but it was not until 2008 that Zep waited for the investment of the producer, and Zep took the first step into the animated film.

Adapting comics into a screenplay, Zep invested in a field he had never set foot in. The work of sketching is no longer familiar to painters, but adapting cartoons into animation codes. But Zep knows how to get out of these technical limitations and use various possibilities to provide endless imagination for movies. "For me, movies are the most coveted medium for telling stories. Making a movie, all the chips are in our hands. " In order to cultivate his "film sense", Zepu revisited many comedy films, and Eric Lattiger's Holding Your Hand and Lauren Trade's Lies and Betrayals have become the reference materials for Didev's creation. As far as the film content is concerned, the story keeps the same style as the previous series. When choosing the material, Zep first chooses the inner worries in the children's world according to the habit, and also considers the problems from the protagonist's parents. "When I wrote these stories, I immediately felt for Didev and his parents, just like in my real life." If Zep is Didif's father, he never intends to do anything for his children. As the general director of the film, Zepu called young draftsmen from all corners of the country to help him create this work. Zep's original plan was to concentrate all the work in one studio in Paris. However, the growth of the creative team far exceeded Zep's original idea. "We opened a second studio in Spain ... then Scotland, Canada and the Philippines ... Similarly, we recruited a group of young people in Australia and the United States." Finally, animation is made by 18 studios scattered all over the world. This small world born in "Didev" communicates with each other through Skype. After the official release date of Didev was announced, Zep used the remaining construction period against time. Time delays caused by the execution of different painters often occur. As the general director of Didev, Zep personally selected the voice actors. Donald Raignault, a 6-year-old dubbing artist at/kloc-0, dedicated his voice to Didev when making a TV series of the same name.
